That being said, do all members need to be present or can just one person (me) submit the application for OCI and PP Surrender on behalf of my family(wife and son) . ?

AFAIK, one person should be able to submit multiple applications in-person. But just to be sure, check with someone who applied as a family.

Hi Everyone,
I submitted my OCI application on Sept 10 as BLS Toronto. My OCI status at BLS tracking website shows "Ready for Dispatch" today and 'UnderProcess' at https://ociservices.gov.in/

I am not sure what it means. Has anyone encountered it before?

Looks like some issue with BLS website. If your OCI has been processed the https://ociservcie website will show you your OCI number as well which has been generated. This is the status shown of my daughter. We had submitted application on 12th August. The BLS status is ready for pickup by Purolator.

Has anybody tried booking an appointment with BLS (Toronto or Brampton) recently? The slots are full until end of September'21 and it does not allow us to scroll to the next month.

No need to book appointment . you can simply walk-in. The appointment was required at lockdown period. They have not updated their website ever since.

You can submit for your minor son for sure. Not sure about your wife. You can give a try. Carry her originals (DL , passport) to prove you are related to her.

Timeline for out baby's OCI

1) 12th Aug 2021 ( Application Submitted by walk-in at BSL Brampton)
2) Presented at CGI Toronto on 27th August ( As per OCI services status check. BLS status was At Processing at CGI )
3) Processed ( 22nd September . OCI number generated )
4) 23rd September (Counter Delivery to BLS Centre after OCI stamping)
5) 24th September (Passport ready For Dispatch after OCI stamping)
6) Delivered by Purolator on 24th September

Hi, I am preparing to submit the OCI application by post. I already have surrender certificate. I believe I only need to submit the Surrender certificate in ORIGINAL version and rest of the documents (Canadian PP, Indian PP, DL, COPR, Citizenship certificate, Marriage certificate and spouse's document) listed on checklist need to be COPY. Can someone please confirm this? Is there any document that has been missed above?

Ofcourse, I know there needs to be 2 drafts - one for CGI and other for BLS.

If someone knows the timeline of sole OCI application, kindly share it.

I have couple questions if you have answer please reply ; before strat I let you know that on Indian passport I had only given name and my wife had same only give. Name

1. Just recieve mine and wife Canadian passports , Both of us have xxx given names and on surnames they just put our names . As Canadian law allows .
Now we are preparing documents for oci
Do We need to provide affidavit for name change , if yes. Do some body have SAMPLE OF AFFIADVIT FOR NAME CAHNAGE

2 . We are also applying oci for our Canadian born kid , so do we have to get a separate name change affidavits from me and wife for his application too ??
I already filled application for oci for my kid
We have to wire information as Canadian passports names and our names are different from Indian passports .
If some 1 have answers please reply

You don't have to book an appointment. You can go to the BLS center as a walk-in applicant. Just be sure to be there early in the (at least around 7 - 7:15 AM) to beat the crowd. I submitted OCI + Surrender application without an appointment at BLS Brampton.

I have gathered all my documents for OCI from Toronto Jurisdiction and have a query on demand draft amount and courier charges. I am only submitting OCI application (2 adults and 1 minor).

Demand draft to be made per person is $345 for High Commission and $ 7.5 for BLS (As per online linkhttps://www.blsindia-canada.com/ocimisc.php). The document checklist states $425 +BLS charges. Which one is the correct one?

When I put in my details for courier pick up and drop off I see below charges:

Pick up $50
Drop off $105
Original Drop off $ 35
Convenience Fee 0.7
Adding up to $190.7

I have noticed in some other comments in the thread that the courier charges were $30 for pick up and $30 per person for return. Wouldn't this be $120 + 35-> 155?

Have to say, dealing with BLS takes a lot of energy and money! Sigh!!

Any pointers from members @rajkamalmohanram @sydcarton @sg02 would be greatly appreciated.

The courier fees is confusing. I submitted my application in-person to avoid all this headache.

This is for pickup and drop off charges and include the payment receipt in your OCI application package. Also, just to be safe, include a letter with BOLD text that states that you've already paid for courier and included the receipt in along with the application package.
