For passport requests, is the 5 MB file size limit applicable to the file or entire email with file? I am not clear on that.. I’ve got two PDFs to send, copies of passports and translations, each one 3.8 MB. 7.6 MB total. Please advise

Let's assume you have two passports during your period so you will attach two seperates files and each file size should be with in 5MB. Although I read that some offices are flexible with regards to file size.

Gotcha .. thank you.. the instructions are not entirely clear in the email I received. I have also not received a confirmation email from my office! This is so painful

Last question.. I’ve got a passport that only covers 4 months of my eligibility period, and the stamps in it (5 of them) are outside the eligibility period. Do I need to translate those as well?

All passports touching the eligibility period, even if its just one day.
And of course all pages on the above said passports, including whichever pages require translation - Lets not confuse them with less pages which easily leads to delays in application.

if sending to calgary citizenship email you get automated reply which is acknowledge your email delivered. so send two file 7.6 mb wait for acknowledge email , if not receive use pdf software reduce size and email again.

I have the same confusion. If we have two passports covering the eligibility, both files will have the same naming format in the email attachment? Lastname-ApplicationId? Also translation has to be a separate file or to be arranged next to the page with the non-english stamp while merging?

Or both passports and the translation can be emailed as one attachment if the file size is under 5MB?

I did not get an AOR either and sent passports' copies 15 days ago already...it is their practice not to answer for anything

I sent my 2 passports and a LOE (re: lost passport from within my eligibility period) in a single PDF file on Sep 22 and received an automated acknowledgement instantly.

I read the instructions as needing to be one attachment of all documents under 5mb in size.

I used https://www.ilovepdf.com/compress_pdf to compress and it ended up being 4.2mb and still very good quality.

has anyone received any communication after sending pp scans/translations? Is there an indicative timeline one should expect to hear anything next? Thanks

I sent copies of my passports in pdf format but sent them in a zip file. Did anyone do the same? Will this be rejected?
