It's my observation that all the progress is happening in the Ontario region and the western regions(Vancouver, Calgary, Saskatchewan) are all on vacation

I think in these regions its probably election delays, in Montreal its coronavirus , elections, future covid variants, black lives matter, french language matters, article 699, officer lives matter, vacations, cone season all these delays are causing havoc in Montreal.

I was reading posts on this forum , mostly applicants get update on three sections i.e language , physical presence and Prohibition to COMPLETE . Decision made on old tracker .


Is it normal to have physical presence in progress .
( scanned passport copies sent last week)

Yes, some people do have their status like this and that's possibly because they are looking into your physical presence in Canada more closely. Once the scanned pages of your PP are reviewed, physical presence will be set to "Completed".

When you oath ceremony changed to in progress?

the last update on my application said aug 18th, so i guess that's when it changed into progress

I checked the new dashboard, it shows "Your citizenship application status: In progress " which is the same as most of us here.

My language, physical, and prohibitions are showing in progress; my background verification is completed.

However, there is a tab named "your next step", which shows "Send us additional information - Waiting on you".

IRCC did request the additional doc in early Feb, and in early April I was told that IRCC canceled the additional information request (as they do not need it after my explanation letter). Does anyone share the similar situation as me?

I see the same under "your next step" on my dashboard as "Send us additional information - Waiting on you" but I have neither received any mail nor any email explaining what additional documents are needed from me. How did you contact IRCC to figure out that your additional documents were no longer needed. May be I can contact them through the same channel to check what do they want.

Guys,
Question on my in law citizenship. one of them is waiting for FP request to come, I confirmed this with the agent on phone.
I dont know how long would it take to complete the whole thing, so my in-laws asking me this.


1. Their PR card has been expired. Can they apply for PR card and leave and then new PR cards can be mailed out to them back home?

2. Can they take the oath online if available while in back home or they would have to be in Canada to do that?

1. I took this gamble during my PR stage. They won't send you your PR card outside of Canada, but you can have someone you trust mail it to you from Canada to wherever you are.

2. Nope. Oath has to be taken from inside Canada. No way around this one

It varies usually for each applicant and for each office.Usually its between 1-3 months after sending PP pages.
