If there was a ghost update after Decision Made, it might mean you're oath ready and scheduling might happen soon.Hi everyone!
I got a shadow update on my application since August 16th. Everything is completed and decision made, but I don't see anything else. Should I be expecting oath of ceremony from here? Or is there another update to expect?
But what about the guarantor signatures if they can apply from outside Canada for a passport with the citizenship certificate? Maybe they need to prepare the photos and the passport applications before going back to Europe? You can leave. You can plan to come to take oath. Just few days trip. Some moved out and coming to attend oath.
You dont need to wait for certificate as you can ask someone to post it via fedex/ups.
If they can get the certificate from the office, they can get it the next day. The problem is the passport, as it may take up to 8 weeks these days, unless they accept an urgent processing because of the job abroad, which I am not sure if it will be grantedYou can go, but be aware that you need to be here for the Oath ceremony. So if you get that email for the Oath ceremony, you'll either need to come back or postpone until you can.
Remember, you have to cut up your PR card in the ceremony, so if you leave to go back before you get your Canadian passport, you'll need to apply for one abroad before coming back in to Canada. And, you need the Canadian citizenship certificate to apply for the passport too. A lot to consider.
I'd go if the opportunity is great, no point putting your life on hold. But, just have in the back of your mind, you'd need to come back and at least until you get the citizenship certificate. So probably need to be here for at least a month.

Thanks for your replies. I agree that this is always easier to manage from within Canada. If I get to a 'decision made' then I would feel save leaving because I won't be asked for fingerprints or anything else and then I'll just return for the ceremony and handle the passport processing. It's theoretical for now but at least I know if the opportunity moves forward I don't have to say no because I'm waiting for my citizenship processes to complete. Based on the timings I'm hoping to get to DM before October 31 but not even sure if that's realistic anymore. My office is Ottawa and I never really see many applicants from there so not sure how fast/slow they are but it's nearly 3 months since my test in mid June.Yes, exactly I agree. Which is why I was suggesting they come back for the oath, wait for the certificate (as opposed to trusting someone to post it to you - anything can go wrong in this instance. Lost in post, delay etc), should the certificate arrive in 3-4 weeks, prepare what you need for the passport in that time, and go and apply for the passport in-person, pay for next day or for the quickest method and then go back to Europe.
For this to be as smooth sailing as possible, I'd go, come back, wait for my certificate and pay whatever it is for the quick processing of the passport. Either way, I'd want to be here in Canada and manage much of that process whilst here, as opposed from Europe. I'm from Europe and I tried to do something similar during the PR process, its a headache. Just be here for Oath and Passport if you can.

It doesn't necessarily take a month to get the certificate and passport. During the credentials check at the Oath ceremony you will be asked if you have to travel within the next three weeks. I told them I had to and they rushed my certificate. I received it two days later and applied for my passport and paid the extra $50 to have it rushed. From the Oath ceremony to receiving the passport took just under two weeks. You can go, but be aware that you need to be here for the Oath ceremony.
