Say if the conservatives get most seats followed by liberals and NDP and none gets a majority alone. NDP can choose the next PM but why should they choose liberals who are at the 2nd place just because they are left-leaning? If I was the NDP party leader, I would want to be the Prime Minister for 2 years in a coalition government and hand over the PM position to the party that accepts my deal. If liberals get 2nd place, then it's the best chance for the NDP party to taste the power and if they do good, liberals will be swallowed in subsequent elections. So NDP should use this great chance if Liberals come 2nd.I mean if conservatives take most seats but not the majority, they need to form a minority government with the other parties. It seems impossible for them to form the minority gov with NDP and liberals. And of course, other parties will not have enough seats. Is it how it works?
