Well in all honesty conducting in person interviews when the world was falling apart with a pandemic is neither safe nor a priority. They also do have way more resources to handle immigration / citizenship application unlike here.Lets not debate about US immigration system here. Thats a whole different topic altogether. I think his "efficiency" term is meant to implicate the processing of PR and citizenship applications for those who are eligible. The US is still doing in person citizenship ceremonies, tests and they did so even during peak waves!
It's not just US though, pretty much any first world country. Australia , New Zealand , Ireland have stupidly slow process to get residency approved. I lived in NewZealand for 10 years and 5 years in US and gave up and moved here. It's not just Immigration, everything takes a lot longer in US. I had to wait 7 months to get my driver's license is renewed because well they have backlog. The USICS website is still stuck in 90s and refreshes every 2 mins when you are feeling a form with no ability to save what you already filled. I don't think Canadian system is perfect but I think they have a grip of how they are handling immigration. Yes there are delays (which country doesn't !) But it's not bad as completing half of your life awaiting your application to be approved or rejected. The US is not a fair comparison.. it’s a completely different and more efficient system.. those who wait 30 years for a green card is because of their nationality, but is not the case for the majority of immigrants to the US.
Absolutely spot on. Plus I believe noone forced any of us to apply for citizenship. I do not get how some people feel so entitled that, as non-Citizens, they want to tell IRCC how to do their job. Why would someone apply if he/she doesn't like the process? Better not waste time and look somewhere else. It's not just US though, pretty much any first world country. I hear you. No test yet. May 2020. Ottawa.Any news on test invites?? I don’t understand that while IRCC Scarborough sending test invite jan and feb 2021, we don’t receive it!!! Don’t they have a sorting system showing people who are waiting more than a year? So disappointing!!
All taxpayers have the right to well run government services, whether they are citizens are not. As for applying even though they don't like the peocess: they have already paid IRCC's salary with their taxes and have every right to complain about inefficiencies!Absolutely spot on. Of course not. Why do you think only citizens get the right to vote? And not all taxpayers. All taxpayers have the right to well run government services, whether they are citizens are not. How does it have nothing to do? As PR in Canada, we pay taxes and we get benefits in return. We have no say in regards to how Government organisations must be run, IRCC for example. This is for citizens to decide, through voting - which non-citizens can't do, for a reason.Having the right to vote has nothing to do with this. If you are happy to get crappy service then don't spend time on this forum and just get whatever service you end up getting.
You have a very narrow, and uneducated point of view. Citizens or not, people have the right to an equitable, unbiased and fair due process in this country regardless of their citizenship status. How does it have nothing to do? Being frustrating by a long process is one thing and I think everyone here had their fair share of frustration at some point. Wanting to change the immigration process, as a non-citizen from the country we are applying to for citizenship, is just laughable though.
Understand your rights first! When you pay someone 630$, should you keep your mouth shut for not receiving any quality of service? Apply your same logic everywhere till you are a citizen and see how that feelsHow does it have nothing to do? As PR in Canada, we pay taxes and we get benefits in return.
