I am sharing my next SOP here, please give your comments.
Dear visa officer,
My name is Odil Abdusattarov. I hold a bachelor degree of International Economic Relations of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (Proof is attached). My goal is to boost my career at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan. To achieve this goal, I would like to combine my existing career experience with Master of Business Administration (MBA) program that Canada offers.
I see a lot of opportunities for my family and a bright career prospects for me here. Thanks to the reforms that are being carried out by our President, Uzbekistan is developing significantly years by years and our President ordered to attract foreign specialists in Uzbekistan and improve every sector with them. Hearing the reforms implemented by our Government and liberalization of economic sector, personnel who graduated top universities of developed countries, are returning to their home country and Government is appointing them top positions. For instance, Timur Ishmetov who studied in UK appointed as the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Omonullo Nasritdinkhodjaev who studied in USA appointed as First Deputy Minister of Finance, Akhadbek Khaydarov who has master’s degree of USA, appointed as the Deputy Minister of Finance, Odilbek Isakov who holds a bachelor and master’s in UK appointed as the Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan (please, check
www.mf.uz/en/ministry/rukovodstvo.html).
My current position is a senior economist at the Ministry of Finance and
Mr. Ajiniyaz Kaypnazarov – Office Director of Ministry of Finance is guaranteeing to promote my position after finishing my MBA at UCW (letters are attached). If he appoints me after finishing my MBA to the next higher position which is Head of Division, my salary will be doubled according to current legislation of Uzbekistan (my current salary is around 1000 US dollar, and it will be around 2000 US dollar). If I will be promoted as a Head of Department, my salary will be quadrupled which is around 4000 US dollars.
Therefore, I realized that I cannot move further in my career at the Ministry of Finance with a local bachelor degree for both my future career and salary.
In addition, in order to survive in this competitive world and progress further in my career, I realized that I do have to gain more knowledge and freshen my skills.
During my work activity I face difficulties that requires learning advanced methods of calculation of financial indicators through up-to-date technologies and programs. As I work at the division of working with international financial institution (IFI) of Ministry of Finance, I have to regularly check Feasibility Studies of business, infrastructure and budget support projects at the expense of IFI funds. I check how this project will benefit to our country, how many workplaces it creates, I check its financial indicators such as Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Repayment Schedule etc. For this, I use primitive methods of calculations, in contrast, developed countries use new methods and advanced programs for the calculation of these indicators.
Furthermore, I regularly participate in loan negotiations with IFIs of each project and choose lending rates. I have to identify the most beneficial lending rates for my country. If I cannot choose the most suitable lending rates, our government will lose millions of dollars while repaying these funds. For this, developed countries use complex modern technologies and programs that I am not familiar.
Therefore, to learn how to use these advanced technologies and programs, also secure my future career and be an irreplaceable personnel, I am willing to take 2 years of MBA at University Canada West (UCW).
Although only few universities offer MBA program in Uzbekistan, they have almost the same tuition fees as UCW is offering but not so high education quality. Studying MBA program at UCW includes relevant digital components and the university collaborates with digital leaders such as Riipen, the Digital Marketing Institute, Salesforce (Trailhead), Tableau and IBM to keep their students updated with upcoming technological trends. The MBA program will teach students how to take challenging situations in a stride, apply pragmatic solutions to problems and ultimately drive the success of organization through intelligent decision-making.
Master of Business Administration is recognized all over the world and the skills I will gain from studying in Canada are:
- communication skills with international financial institutions
- lead teams through the resolution of problems and successful completion of projects and tasks
- demonstrate effective skills to collaborate with diverse groups of people
- develop, implement and evaluate solutions to problems
- gather, analyze and synthesize information
These all will be available to me only after completing the Master of Business Administration in Canada that would not otherwise be open to me with my current level of education and experience.
I appreciate your time and would be glad to provide any clarification.
