I dont see your point here. So according to you, applying to UNB can be rejected but magically you with your choice in University Canada West can stand a chance to get approval ??

UNB is ranked among the best 900 universities in the world. And UCW is ranked among 5000. Five thousand in the world. Some well-known ranking organizations dont even mention University Canada West.

PhD with a MBA at UCW, can not help but laugh. Are you being serious and honest to yourself? People can't even have a job with hourly rate of 15$ with that MBA. In what world that same MBA can qualify for a PhD?

I see you want PhD, you want to immigrate but dont want to take effort to do GMAT so you can get into a proper school and a proper program. That is not how it works.

I work from morning till night in our country and hardly find time to improve my english and gmat, Last time I prepared for IELTS not working 2 months and my financial situation worsened. If I now give up my job and prepare for IELTS and GMAT, no one guarantees that I will get approved but I lose thousands of dollars. Our country is appointing personnel who have diploma in developed countries and not checking whether it is top university or not. Government appointing them top positions. So I dont care whether it is UCW or UToronto, I need foreign diploma and english language fluency.

Your financial situation will also worsening by paying $39,500 only tuition fee for 15courses at UCW. Two years add cost of living in Vancouver, you are taking about $80,000 plus. You need competency in English when writting case studies and papers… Is it worth it just to get Government appointed positions? You want tittle or position in life? Why all the way to Canada? Why not EU? Your 4th attempt outcome might be the same, provided nothing change in your profile

2 years education at UCW is 20 000 USD, not 39 000 as you mentioned. Moreover, I thought I can find part time job and cover all my expences in Canada and benefit from study will be diploma. If I go to UK, tuition fee is very high and finding a part time job is very difficult. Germany has no tuition fee but no improvement in english level. Finding a part time job with english is impossible in germany. So after so many attempts, I decided to stay in Uzb and not go anywhere. May be its my fate to work for my country forever. Thanks everyone.

No dude, never give up. All we are saying is improve your situation and then apply. Dont just blindly apply and feel dejected later. If its MBA you want then only GMAT can save you. Think about it. Also there are so many ways for happiness, always have plan B and C! :)

Tuition & Fees | University Canada West (ucanwest.ca)

It states that a MBA is $35,000. How will a part-time job at a maximum of 20 hours a week cover your tuition and expenses .

I got grant letter of 10000 CAD from UCW , so 2 years of education costs 25 000 CAD, my total funds collected for masters is 20 000 us dollars which is enough for my tuition fee. If part time job will cover my living expences, I can survive in Canada. I dont understand one thing, Canada has the largest territory but only 35 mln population which is less than ours. Why so many rejections. How do they develop if no one lives there.

Canada does not have much population does not mean Canada has to accept everyone and anyone to the country. If Canada ever do so, the country can not stand where it stands right now.

You should focus on improving your application and profile instead of blaming Canada and VOs. That is not really nice.

I have
I am sharing my next SOP here, please give your comments.

Dear visa officer,

My name is Odil Abdusattarov. I hold a bachelor degree of International Economic Relations of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (Proof is attached). My goal is to boost my career at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan. To achieve this goal, I would like to combine my existing career experience with Master of Business Administration (MBA) program that Canada offers.

I see a lot of opportunities for my family and a bright career prospects for me here. Thanks to the reforms that are being carried out by our President, Uzbekistan is developing significantly years by years and our President ordered to attract foreign specialists in Uzbekistan and improve every sector with them. Hearing the reforms implemented by our Government and liberalization of economic sector, personnel who graduated top universities of developed countries, are returning to their home country and Government is appointing them top positions. For instance, Timur Ishmetov who studied in UK appointed as the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Omonullo Nasritdinkhodjaev who studied in USA appointed as First Deputy Minister of Finance, Akhadbek Khaydarov who has master’s degree of USA, appointed as the Deputy Minister of Finance, Odilbek Isakov who holds a bachelor and master’s in UK appointed as the Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan (please, check www.mf.uz/en/ministry/rukovodstvo.html).

My current position is a senior economist at the Ministry of Finance and
Mr. Ajiniyaz Kaypnazarov – Office Director of Ministry of Finance is guaranteeing to promote my position after finishing my MBA at UCW (letters are attached). If he appoints me after finishing my MBA to the next higher position which is Head of Division, my salary will be doubled according to current legislation of Uzbekistan (my current salary is around 1000 US dollar, and it will be around 2000 US dollar). If I will be promoted as a Head of Department, my salary will be quadrupled which is around 4000 US dollars.

Therefore, I realized that I cannot move further in my career at the Ministry of Finance with a local bachelor degree for both my future career and salary.

In addition, in order to survive in this competitive world and progress further in my career, I realized that I do have to gain more knowledge and freshen my skills.

During my work activity I face difficulties that requires learning advanced methods of calculation of financial indicators through up-to-date technologies and programs. As I work at the division of working with international financial institution (IFI) of Ministry of Finance, I have to regularly check Feasibility Studies of business, infrastructure and budget support projects at the expense of IFI funds. I check how this project will benefit to our country, how many workplaces it creates, I check its financial indicators such as Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Repayment Schedule etc. For this, I use primitive methods of calculations, in contrast, developed countries use new methods and advanced programs for the calculation of these indicators.

Furthermore, I regularly participate in loan negotiations with IFIs of each project and choose lending rates. I have to identify the most beneficial lending rates for my country. If I cannot choose the most suitable lending rates, our government will lose millions of dollars while repaying these funds. For this, developed countries use complex modern technologies and programs that I am not familiar.

Therefore, to learn how to use these advanced technologies and programs, also secure my future career and be an irreplaceable personnel, I am willing to take 2 years of MBA at University Canada West (UCW).

Although only few universities offer MBA program in Uzbekistan, they have almost the same tuition fees as UCW is offering but not so high education quality. Studying MBA program at UCW includes relevant digital components and the university collaborates with digital leaders such as Riipen, the Digital Marketing Institute, Salesforce (Trailhead), Tableau and IBM to keep their students updated with upcoming technological trends. The MBA program will teach students how to take challenging situations in a stride, apply pragmatic solutions to problems and ultimately drive the success of organization through intelligent decision-making.

Master of Business Administration is recognized all over the world and the skills I will gain from studying in Canada are:

  • communication skills with international financial institutions
  • lead teams through the resolution of problems and successful completion of projects and tasks
  • demonstrate effective skills to collaborate with diverse groups of people
  • develop, implement and evaluate solutions to problems
  • gather, analyze and synthesize information
These all will be available to me only after completing the Master of Business Administration in Canada that would not otherwise be open to me with my current level of education and experience.

I appreciate your time and would be glad to provide any clarification.

Odil Abdusattarov Khasanovich
I have checked the previous messages and I’ve seen that many people have tried to advise you to choose another institution aside UCW.
Even though I agree to an extent, I’ll tell you what I think about your SOP.

1. Your SOP doesn’t seem like you’re applying to study. It’s more focused on work and information that will distract the VO; Kindly focus on these elements that should be literally present in most SOPs, if not all SOPs
1. Reason for choosing the program
2. Reason for choosing UCW (Explanatory to your case not descriptive)
3. Why Canada?
4. Future prospects and plans after graduation( I think you have mixed this up with your background and professional development)
5.Kindly refrain from unsolicited references like mentioning names of people who have studied abroad from your country( It’s not entirely needed)
6. Refrain from discussing salary structures (Too early for that)
7. Try to put each discussion under appropriate headings
8.The skills section should be under why you chose the program (it should be practical not descriptive)
9. Future prospects should be the last thing you discuss not right at the top
10. Kindly check your connecting sentences (Ensure that the right tenses and conjunctions are used and focus on coherence)

I hope this helps. You can ask for further clarification.

Thank you so much for your comments. It seems if my SOP has so many mistakes, then I would have got refusal even my university was UToronto.

I wouldn’t say it’s because of the mistakes. VOs are humans and they understand that people make mistakes. Yours is more about the content of the SOP. It has to be well tailored and straight to the point. I doubt they read the whole thing on every application. They just want a few lines to establish a point. If they have to read through a lengthy SOP just to get a simple information, I can imagine their frustration. Keep it simple but good. I’ll be happy to comment on a new or improved SOP with clear subheadings.

Do you think I can get study permit in the 3rd time with fixing my SOP?
