Somewhat true, down south we are at the end of the 3rd wave and have averaged 14000 daily cases and 450-550 daily deaths this past week alone. Full vaccinations just hit 10% of pop. With over 10 million shots in storage with another 10m arriving before sept. Funny thing is when the Vax rollout started our govt. aimed to vaccinate 300k per day which we never even got close to, instead demand for shots has steadily declined and we are struggling to Vax 150k per day and declining further. Vax hesitancy is a huge thing here thanks to social media lol.Well, in Africa the pandemic is almost non-existent; government offices are open and working for several months now. Maybe that’s a big factor. Unfortunately the western and more developed countries continue to use the pandemic as an excuse for incompetence
The media in developed countries are working hand in hand with their governments to scare people. Just like in your country, covid ends when you stop counting cases and making news about it. Same here. Since June, nobody gives a f really, and we're pretty much back to normal. Nobody even talks about it. But yes, some companies continue with their restrictions however I think there are no government restrictions in place other than (some) mask stuff.it's like we are learning to live with the virus better than most developed countries with extremely high vaxxed pops... Weird lol
You are free now, why do you want to restrict yourself by moving to Canada?I have no idea why you got butthurt lol.
I remember when CNN predicted doom for Africans during the early days of the pandemic. Now look who’s coping better. Even with very low vaccination rollouts, most of Africa has been faring much better than many western countries.Somewhat true, down south we are at the end of the 3rd wave and have averaged 14000 daily cases and 450-550 daily deaths this past week alone. With all this said however, life is going on, some people are still working from home but a bulk have returned to work for many months now. My people are largely over it and rightfully have pandemic fatigue and it's like we are learning to live with the virus better than most developed countries with extremely high vaxxed pops... Canada has some more critical advantages over living here. But it has a shitty banking and health care system especially when compared to what we have here. The nationals of my country who are either PRs or citizens in Canada come back here to get medical services because they also do know that health care in Canada is pathetic, and expensive. You are free now, why do you want to restrict yourself by moving to Canada?
I know I'll be branded a conspiracy theorist when I say this but; African countries can't spend that much money on vaccines anyway so the vaccine and med business lords are not targeting those countries. It is the developed first world countries who will spend a lot of money on vaccines and meds so money lords work with their governments and media to scare the public to get their support in spending money on vaccines and providing coverage for anything else that got damaged due to the pandemic (like social businesses, restaurants events etc).I remember when CNN predicted doom for Africans during the early days of the pandemic. Advantages like what? I don't see any advantage other than getting the citizenship.Canada has some more critical advantages over living here. It’s still relatively easy to get PR if u r onshore and working in field of ur nominated occupation.I think it was more of a personal decision than any other factor. However, the IT or academic jobs sector is not good in Australia as compared to Canada. Furthermore, getting PR in Australia is very tough.
Eh you gotta admit Canada offers some true peace of mind if you have any sort of permanent status with at least a somewhat decent job (not hard to find in Canada). Low crime too. Affordability is not bad other than housing but in many "likeable" places in the world right now housing is never cheap anyway. But other than "peace", you're right, there aren't so many advantages other than getting the citizenship. My motivation for wanting to move to Canada is to have some peace. I know I'll never have a better job there than I do here, I'll have more difficult time with banking and health there, I'll lose all my friends and family and end up alone; still, I need some peace of mind lol.Advantages like what? I don't see any advantage other than getting the citizenship.
Are you willing to pay rent for the rest of your life or take on a life long massive debt for owning a home? Rent will take big chunk out of your salary there.Eh you gotta admit Canada offers some true peace of mind if you have any sort of permanent status with at least a somewhat decent job (not hard to find in Canada). For me, its nature, infrastructure, culture, close proximity with the United States, citizenship, security, being able to live independently are the main reasons for wanting to move to Canada.Advantages like what? I don't see any advantage other than getting the citizenship.
I know, I've lived in Canada. As I said, housing in Canada is just stupid but all things considered, it's justified by my standards. That applies to my situation though. We have folk here who want to immigrate to Canada from developed European countries. I imagine their answers would be different. Are you willing to pay rent for the rest of your life or take on a life long massive debt for owning a home?
