Hi I have a question about address history. Does one's address history need to match with CRA and Drivers licence/health card records?

I've moved several times and for the sake of convenience have maintained a 'home base' which is my friend's house and where I lived for a long time. This is still my mailing address for anything official and I'm still there a couple of times a week. If I were to provide an exact record of the many other addresses where I've actually resided, this wouldn't match up with CRA etc. Is this a problem? Does IRCC cross-check one's address history with other agencies?

I'm considering one of two options:
1. Declare the one address. I don't have any proof or official record of the other addresses (no rental agreements/bills). If I didn't mention them, nobody would ever know. I've been told this would make things simple, but this seems dishonest.
2. Declare all the addresses and explain in LoE that I've maintained a 'home base' as my mailing address, and where I am still present often. In this case, I would give my 'home base' as my mailing address on my citizenship application.

Advice please?

Well, I would recommend you provide all the addresses that you considered your "primary residential address" (that is, the address where you primarily live). I don't think it has to match with CRA records.

It might be okay if you skip some addresses where you stayed only for a few days for example but I wouldn't recommend skipping any addresses where you might have "lived" for a period of time and that was your primary residence.

This is a unique case, not many people I know are in this position.

If someone else is in this position, it would be better if they jump in and provide some advise here.

Thank you Raj, I really appreciate your expert advice! Could this lead to a RQ? Should I explain in LoE why I've maintained a different 'home base' for mailing address, to pre-empt any doubts? I don't have proof that I've rented a room at these addresses (no rental agreements/bills), although I potentially could get letters from the leaseholders/landlords in question certifying that I lived there, and show records of e-transfers of rent to them.

You won't be submitting any address proof as a part of your citizenship application. However, these may be needed in case you get a RQ.

Based on what you've mentioned, this alone doesn't constitute grounds for RQ. As long as you apply with sufficient buffer, you should be good IMO.

Whatever match with CRA/Health Records or any sort of your official communication should be put in the forms in order to omit any confusion.
