Hello All,
I just have a few questions that I wanted to clarify.
My Situation Right Now:
I am applying for a study permit to come to Canada for the upcoming fall semester. I applied for my study permit from the UK and non-SDS category and recently got a passport request form from IRCC.
My questions:
1) I realise that once I land in Canada the Immigration officer will ask me some questions before issuing my official study permit. I have researched some of the questions that they might ask also. Let's suppose the officer asks "What are the financial support you have here in Canada?" Since I don't have a Canadian bank account and that the non-SDS category does not require a GIC bank account. Will I be able to show my Dad's bank statements for financial support and say that once I come to Canada I will open a bank account? As these were the documents I initially submitted to the IRCC in my application.
2) Or should I open a savings account in a Canadian bank and put some funds in there before coming to the Canada?
3) Although I applied for a study permit from the Uk I am still a citizen of India. So will the officer consider me as an Applicant of the UK or an Applicant of India?
I am really stuck on this and I want my transition to happen as smooth as possible. Answers to these questions will be very much appreciated.
Thanks!
