- The 2021-2023 Multi-Year Levels Plan was tabled in Parliament on October 30, 2020, with targets of 401,000 permanent residents in 2021 (range: 300,000- 410,000); 411,000 in 2022 (range: 320,000-420,000); and 421,000 in 2023 (range: 330,000- 430,000).
- The plan increases admissions to offset the impacts of COVID-19, including a projected shortfall in 2020 of about 150,000 (actual shortfall was approximately 156,600). Unlike in previous years, this year’s plan features significantly lowered ranges in each year to provide flexibility for potential ongoing pandemic-related impacts—including travel restrictions and the possibility of interruptions to business resumption.
- The Multi-Year Levels Plan has three broad objectives: 1) achieving long-term benefits for Canada; 2) contributing to short-term economic growth and addressing labour market needs for different regions; and 3) ensuring a well-managed migration system that can maintain public confidence.
Canada still need more immigrants
I agree. They need immigrants to save the economy. That’s why they made it easier for express entry. I suggest that you try that program too. I dunno how they will process the 90k applicants of TR to PR program (2 months already but NO ONE got an approval yet). They are saying that they need immigrants but there are people who are in this forum who already earned their rights to gain PR but still waiting for a loooong time. Ask these people if they still believe in giving the PR right away to caregivers. Money talks here. If you have money, and from major countries like Germany, getting PR is not a problem. So if you’re from Philippines like me, don’t expect too much if you don’t have a masteral or rich. I believe Quami, who got his PR spent thousands or maybe he is engineer or a doctor (or someone intelligent), or maybe he was a seasonal worker who accumulated years of working here.
I’m trying to be positive but I still present to all of you the reality here in Canada. Do you know anyone who got his PR without spending thousands of dollars (except for caregivers)? Me and my sisters spent almost $2000 ONLY just to be here.
