Citizenship Test From Outside Canada

UPDATE: So I checked my online test tracking status thing this morning and mine was showing as 'Complete.'

However my wife's was not, she then finally received an email this afternoon (UK time) stating that she should take the test....but she's already done it! God IRCC are so frustrating and clearly don't read any emails....I instructed her to email them back to let them know she's taken the test, passed it and to send a screenshot of the confirmation email.

So an hour later she receives another email to take the test and it's addressed to a completely different name.....you really couldn't make this stuff up! They then send her another email after she says who's this....and state 'ignore previous email'......my god what a pollavah!

Anyway so right now, one complete, hoping my wife's is also going to be acknowledged and shown and complete, I know IRCC deal with so many people but the whole process just seems so hap hazard but I guess that's government run departments for you, no matter where you are in the world.

She should be fine. I dont see any issues will be there. Good luck though still

When you say hear back what do you mean? She's taken the test and passed it on Saturday....status although bizarrely is still showing as 'In Progress'.....how can an automated reply say ALL Passed and 18/20, but yet not relay that to the tracking status system to say 'Complete'?

Ok i meant did CIC reply to her email that she has already taken the test (before they confirmed to take) as her date window was ending..

No they replied to give her the 'green light' on Monday.....one day after her date expired with no mention of which link to use....thank god she had taken it 48hours earlier.

I dont see an issue. Test is open to all from outside. Should be fine.
They should have simply told to proceed in taking test after sending email(instead of asking candidates to wait for instructions). Seems they will take another few months to update the template. Cic likes to keep more work, more interactions and less doing.

Yes it does seem that 'Common Sense' is not the strongest of their skills.....I understand that processes are meant to be followed along with procedure, but where they can see a test window is fast closing, they've acknowledged the initial email and still want a 2nd email stating that we wish to do the test from outside of canada, that's the frustrating part about this.....Oh how I'd love to use my 'Process Management' experience to bring about change at the CIC lol

Exactly the reason i asked you if you heard back anything. Worst would be to keep waiting and then after 1-2 months you come to know the test was not accepted and retest is needed. I would say email them again and mention you took the test without waiting their confirmation since the date was ending.. at the end of the day, the person reading the email is also human - he would i guess understand and mark complete.

We've emailed twice and on the second occasion sent a screenshot of the confirmation email that was sent to my wife.....unless they can come up with a valid reason, we won't be re-taking the test or well my wife won't be. I'm not going to panic but as per what I was going to do anyway, I will be emailing them weekly asking for an update.

How long takes for CIC to reply after contacting them? (to pass test outside Canada)
i just read also that i should contact them within 48 hours from receiving the invitation. It has been 5 days i got it...Do i still have any chance?

Yes just send email. Its just formality that they said 48 hours. They will approve in 1-2 days. Send it soon. Its open to all and no particular criteria. So dont worry about it. Start studying.
you have 3 weeks time hence you would get it by the time you start preparing for it.
Make sure you give the test at least last week of the period.

Hello,
I received my test invitation on June 1, with the window to give test between 7-27th June.
I emailed them if they can reschedule the test and they replied in a day with the instructions, that i can use the same link from the original invitation email.

The https://ct-tc.apps.cic.gc.ca/ link says “You can’t take the test right now” ,which is expected. So I emailed them back & have not received a response yet.

I know rescheduling could take 2 months, but do we get any acknowledgement email from them that they have put me in the rescheduling queue?

Also I see the members in this thread, had an test invitation (new or rescheduled) in July after they permitted the online test.

Does anyone know of some old invitee being allowed to take the test outside canada?
