There’s no guarantee this will end at 31st December 2020
Giving that the last CEC-only draw last year was in August and considering the 2 months window for submitting applications, can we safely assume that IRCC is now working on the final bulk of uncomplicated CEC files from 2020?

Ofcourse there were subsequent all program draws after that but I’m pretty sure they had very few CEC applicants. They’ve also been working on CEC files submitted this year at breathe-taking pace. So just maybe they would soon turn their attention to outland applications. Also, they would soon round off students visa processing in anticipation of resumption of schools in Sept/October.I hope this would have positive outcome on outlanders

Case counts have begun to increase again :(. Honestly hope that the vaccines ensure that hospitalization and deaths continue to remain low. Fingers crossed!

Well, that’s the main aim of the vaccines and they’ve been pretty good at reducing both hospitalizations, ICU admissions and death. Canada has more than enough vaccines now, hopefully the rollout continues at a decent pace

Really? I hadn’t even noticed this
Yeah, the last CEC-only draw last year was in August and since they would have to submit within 60days, IRCC may have processed the larger chunk of those CEC applications so it would move faster from hence

Well, assuming these application processing status reports are accurate though

You have had 90 days to submit since the pandemic started, they extended it.

But that's just a minor detail, you are definitely right of course. Most AORs from October 2020 to January 2021 were FSW.

Exactly; there’s no reason whatsoever for outland applications not to start seeing obvious movements from the second half of August or early September at the latest

Eligibility switched to Recommend Pass in January 2021. It only got assigned to a senior officer in May. Beyond that, absolutely nothing. The Ottawa VO hasn’t had full capacity in-office staff for months now, and i am almost certain that’s why my file is stuck.

I contacted my MP. They can’t expedite anything. They simply got back info from IRCC that i could already see in my GCMS notes
Ottawa is sitting on a lot of files at the moment. Even outland files waiting on security verifications are stuck there. CIO seems to be doing the majority of the work - in record timing, before pushing to Ottawa for security. It gets to Ottawa and sit for months. Hopefully, they get back to working from the office now that vaccination rate is pretty high. Fingers crossed.
