Hi friends, I applied to TR to PR on May 6th at 12:23-12:25. Still waiting on my AOR and linking to my application. My question is, during the waiting time, should I apply for an RCMP PCC ? I submitted my app with the PCC from my home country, then I saw some posts in this thread saying that IRCC requested RCMP from applicants?. Just wondering.
Thanks in advance. Hope everyone will get their AOR soon.

You just got a newbie call centre agent that couldn't explain properly. Call back - if you got a confirmation email when you submitted it on the 6th May then they received it. They probably just mean it's not being processed yet. The agent I spoke to had to really look for it as well so it's obviously in some secret menu somewhere.
No, it is not secret menu. My friend, an IT, told me the Govt's system is different than us, the officers can see everything of our applications, documents, updated information also who has been worked on the case etc.... in their screen. The machine is connected to network of all offices. In our screen, we see a portal only.

Guys, I have a quick question. I couldn't find the answer. What contact number for IRCC? Is it 888-242-2100?
I called IRCC today, but the agent said she doesn't have access to the system and can't see anything.
Did I call too early?
Yes, it is too early :)
I think they are working on 12.00-12.30pm.

You need PCC from your own country only (not Canada PCC)
They will request RCMP check if they need more information.

Hello,

I have been a silent reader so far.

Main Question for PCC - Is there anyone here who submitted a PCC in the initial documents, but still got asked for a new one?

Background :

I applied through the International Graduate Stream

I used an Old PCC issued in Feb 2020 (again 2020) - I am one of the unfortunate ones who applied through FSW Inland back in Mar of 2020 thinking IRCC would not discrimate between CEC and FSW Inland applicants. Worked hard to get an IELTS score of 8.5 and applied through FSW Inland wanting to stay ahead of the game and did not want to wait for 1 year work ex completion.

Long story short, I applied again through TR to PR and used all the documents I used for old FSW Application.

Query :
I have been reading in earlier posts that once people get their AOR, they get a PCC request. If someone already submitted a PCC during the application, do they ask for another one? If yes, with long waiting times at BLS (India) , should I be applying right away for PCCs for me and my Inland spouse ? I know it's better to apply to be safe, but I am seeing timelines like 60 days or so for PCC.

@Tomican @Prateek710 or anyone active in this group. Can you please help with this query?

The validity of PCC is only for 6 months (depends on different countries). Some may have to get another one.
Also, the officer works on case-by-case. They will request if they need more information.

*You don't need to get PCC if you are in Canada.
You don’t need to provide a police certificate when you apply for permanent residence in Canada. We’ll tell you if you need a Canadian criminal record check while your application is being processed.

Better apply for the BLS one now as the thing is I applied local police upfront but they still ask me BLS one so I got it ready in case they ask me later it won't waste my time and that's what really happened however old medical worked and I am pass in that still I got the new one ready just in case if they ask for. Also, check the date of your PCC if it was issued in less than 6 months when you applied for TR to PR then no need they won't ask else if it was expired they might ask you to get new one

Which makes

Seems like they are really lenient to me. People have been getting requests for PCCs from their home countries which sounds to me like they didn't include them in the first place which would be a basis for refusal in normal times
It really depends cause for me I can’t get a PCC without a request letter from IRCC, that is why it’s annoying that I can’t link..

Some countries (like mine, Ireland) require a request letter from IRCC before they will issue you a PCC out of country. IRCC allow for this and say upload LOE if your country requires a letter, so this is probably why you're seeing so many PCC requests.

Ahhhh that makes sense. Thinking back I requested mine from England just as I left so I've not run into this situation of asking from overseas.

So they are just being inept when they can't find our application straight away then is that what you're saying? ;)
