Hi,
could you tell the documents which you uploaded on the OCI portal? The checklist seems to say "Record of Landing" for India visa and also, the checklist has no mention of employment/work letter but the website has an option for the same.

Submitting OCI and surrender application together- could echo the frustration of many here with the appointments & forced to use purolator. I just need some clarifications regarding the documents to be uploaded for OCI:

a) If we are uploading scans of original then do those rather need to be self-attested copies?
b) I am submitting at Toronto jurisdiction so just to confirm, what all documents are required? Proof of Indian origin- could be current passport and Current passport which is Canadian passport. The checklist mentions record of landing in India visa so is that COPR?
c) Do we need to upload any employment/work letter? Checklist doesn't mention anything but the portal has an option!

Did anyone try to get a normal physical 51x51 photo, scan and crop it using one of the dozen online croppers, and upload that to the OCI portal?

While regular PP photos are 12-14$, these people want to charge 24-30$ for OCI.

Does "Processing at Consulate General" mean application is accepted ??

These guys are strict about the photo. If possible, get the picture taken as per the exact specifications and request for a digital copy and 2 hard copies. The last thing you want is for your application to be returned and pay the delivery fee again. It sucks to be in that position.

Make sure the background is white or at least off-white (light color). While getting your photo taken, make sure you are not wearing a white shirt (wear a contrasting color).

Note: The photo requirements are very strict.. Please follow the following instructions accordingly:

Note: Additional physical copy of photograph is required apart from uploading in online application.

1. Center head within frame and present full head from top of hair to bottom of chin.
2. The face should cover about 60-70 percent of the photo area
3. The applicant's head, including both face and hair, should be shown from the crown of the head to the tip of the chin.
4. Please ensure both ears, neck, and shoulders are clearly visible.
5. The head must be centered within the frame.
6. Photo should present Full face, front view, eyes open.
7. Background should be plain light colored without borders with contract colored clothes (not white clothes).
8. Photos with dark, busy, or patterned backgrounds will not be accepted.
9. No shadows on the face or on the background.

The photograph should be in colour and of the size of 2 inch x 2 inch(51 mm x 51 mm) for Visa, Passport and OCI

1. The photo-print should be clear and with a continuous-tone quality.
2. It should have full face, front view, eyes open.
3. Photo should present full head from top of hair to bottom of chin.
4. Center head within frame.
5. The background should be a plain white or off-white.
6. There should not be any distracting shadows on the face or on the background.
7. Head coverings are not permitted except for religious reasons, but the facial fea tures from bottom of chin to top of forehead and both edges of the face must be clearly shown.
8. The expression on the face should look natural.

I wouldnt try that. risk of rejection is too high.

I just wonder how for some ppl the application starts appearing on the OCI tracking portal after 2 days from when the BLS status changes to "processing at consulate" and for some it takes good 7-10 days

May be they have some sort of pre-scheduled days

Hey guys, quick question. Can 1 person go and apply for multiple persons for a single appointment? Or should I create multiple appointments per person?

Edit: I booked ONE passport appointment for:
- Two persons
- Surrender passport + apply for OCI

That should be fine ?
