OCI process

Does anyone know what is the current process for passport surrender and OCI? Can I go to the Toronto location for everything? Or is it everything online/mail in?

If online, can I do a surrender and OCI application at the same time? If somebody can give a brief overview, that'd be great.

Between what's your timeline for OCI ?

Also for the photograph it says :

Photograph to be affixed on the application should be a square shape of size not less than 51*51mm
(with 80% coverage of face). It should have plain light color background (not white) without the border
with front view of person's head and shoulders showing the full face in middle of the photograph. It
should not be stapled and not have any signature. Does picture with white background works ?

Yes, my pictures were taken with white background. I was able to have my pictures clicked at photo studio which was very close to BLS office in Calgary Which made it very easy.

June 21 - Document posted via Purolator (thieves)
June 23 - Under Process
June 24 - Processing at Consulate General

Can anyone help me forecast the best and worst case scenario on receiving the card?

June 24 - Application sent via Purolator (Amount paid: $71 cad)
June 25 - Documents received at BLS Brampton (40 Gillingham Dr Unit 403, Brampton, ON L6X 4X7 ) 12:00 noon (There is no signature shown)

I haven't received any acknowledgement yet. I tried to track my application, the result is not found as well (BLS website).
Could you please suggest me how long it will take to get any sort of notification that Application is received and reviewed.

Does "Processing at Consulate General" mean application is accepted ??

Acknowledgement email may or may not come. Generally doesnt.
Its takes 2-3 working days for it to appear in the BLS tracking.
Then another 7-10 working days for it to appear on ociservices.gov.in

check on bls website only, it will take 2-3 weeks before it will show on OCI website.
