Yes - that would be misrepresentation. That's faking a signature.

Honestly, if you can do a good fake signature, go for it without adding an extra month that your application would take from mailing the form back and forth.

This might be taken with a frown but I haven’t heard of a case being commented on fake signatures before.

It doesn't take a month to get a real signature. The filled updated form can be email (in pdf format) to the spouse. Spouse can print and sign it and then courier back. It shouldn't thake more than a week from most places.

btw signing "for" someone else/faking a signature is forgery.

Could you please tell me, what if I sign it, then make a scanned copy, and send him on email so that he could print it. Would that be ok?

Forging someone’s signature is a crime and yes it would not be taken lightly . It takes two minutes to sign a form , scan and email . They accept this and keep the original in case . Never sign someone’s name on a government document .
