Hello All
Hope you are all having a good time
I want your kind advice on my situation
I'm PR since late 2018 and stayed in Canada for short periods through the last 2 years. I submitted my spouse application while I was in Canada and then after 3 months, I had to leave to be with my wife as she gave birth and I stayed with her till now due to COVID 19 situation and lockdowns. My spouse got her visa after a 1-year sponsorship application process while I was with her abroad. and we are intending to move back together to Canada in the coming few months 2021. My question is, will we be examined by PoE about the reason why I wasn't inside Canada during the application process? . Though I will still be meeting RO(PR renewal) by then, will I be questioned by the officer about not being in Canada for a longer time?

Any advice is highly appreciated

Was your child included in her app after being born? Also received travel document and/or COPR?

If you are still in compliance with the RO (which it sounds like you are by the dates you provided), you might get asked questions but that's about it. (I'm not going to address health care issues)

Now technically you were supposed to be resident in Canada throughout the PR process (save short trips). I don't believe there is much likelihood of them 'catching' this and doing anything now that your wife has received her COPR/visa. If you wish to avoid even the tiniest likelihood, you could return before her (although my personal guess is not necessary).

But the question of the child is critical: if the child didn't yet receive any documents allowing travel to Canada, you need to deal with it now, and if you're going to apply for TRV / PR for the child, it might be a better idea to return to Canada before applying for either, i.e. return at the soonest.

Dear @armoured ,
Thanks so much for your kind reply.
Yes, my child was included in the app and got COPR and VISA similar to my spouse
