Just submit your ITA application with all the available documents except medical. Also submit an LOE stating that since you are based out of Canada you need the IME request in order to proceed with the medical.

So instead of uploading medical, I should add a separate LOE explaining my situation?

I had selected "Resident Permit", in some forums it is mentioned that it is fine and people have got their PR as well. Confused about this!

I think it should be fine considering both are same. Resident permit is like Permanent Residency and we are immigrating so immigration other than citizenship should also work.

can anyone else please confirm if both are correct?

You can do anywhere in the world until it is done at test center approved by IRCC.

That makes sense.. I am considering checking up in Ludhiana or Chandigarh if they are doing medicals.. I can drive there and come back the same day..

But looking at what others are suggesting and what’s on the cic website as well, you think submitting an LOE will be a good option for now?

I had already checked up in Chandigarh . They are also asking for IME letter

The reason, I think IRCC asking to not to do medical is because they do not want to give extension to medical if COPR takes more than a year. (Medical should be valid until you land). So, if they make upfront mandatory, many applicants might complaint later when they asked to do re-medical if COPR gets delayed. However, I believe COPR should not take a year as once 75% of Canada is vaccinated things should speed up.

So, if upfront is possible, I would do it 1 week before my e-apr submission with a risk that I might have to do it again after a year (if processing and landing delayed) the risk I am going to take. If that happens it will delay the application at that stage, if not it will delay application at starting stage. Both have pros and cons. You take your call.

I agree with your point here that with the way things are unfolding, Canada might open up borders soon. But I don’t wanna wait and then submit later. Things might not get better in India anytime soon considering the amount of vaccines and our population.

I’ll wait till I get my PCC.. my appointment‘s booked for June 24. If I can get anything on upfront medicals by then, it should be good else I’ll go with LOE option.. I’ll still be interested how others are doing!

Do we have to remain resident in the same country where we file from all the way through until we get the COPR? I'm hearing from this group and others that it will take a year or more. Meanwhile, no possibility of looking for a Canadian job with no visibility on the timeline and no point in quitting a current position either. My current co wants me to travel for a project.

Not required. You are free to get along with your life. Any changes in personal information like marriage, child, employment change, change of residence etc need to be updated to IRCC via Webform. That's it.

I have applied it through high commission India from Singapore.I’m not sure about the timeline for police clearance in India now. If anyone applied and received PCC please let me know the timeline.

2.If PCC India takes time and if I got all other docs ready can I submit the application with LOE and latter submit when asked for ADR?

I am not sure about Singapore, however people in US have got in two weeks.

You have 90 days to submit. Submit complete application. Only medical allowed with LOE without test, PCC is mandatory.

It is hard to convince officer that you have made "enough" effort to if you submit incomplete application and application will be rejected.

I’ll have my PCC done in coming week and I can then get my bank statements done too!

how are you planning to submit in July if UME are not happening?

Unfortunately I (we) won't be able to then. The waiting period begins from there on it seems.
