My application was refused because of applying from a country I was visiting along with my spouse. Legit traveled back to home country and applied alone this time. I even changed into a higher level program to make my profile stronger. I don’t know what more can I do.

Can I know from which country u applied from previously?

What if there is no BVL even after 40 days since eligibility review stared and medical passed? Does that mean no decision? Or just another black box activity from IRCC? :/

Relax. I received my BVL and PPR together last year in November when review of eligibility started in July, AIP in August. It was a stressful year.

Thanks man. Its just that, I applied early April. Just in time for Sept intake.
I am in a demanding stressful job, I also need to see when to resign. Lol not that IRCC can be least bothered but I need to know my way around. Ugghhh. My spouse’s SOWP had no movement but some of my international classmates also said that after SP only they saw movement in SOWP (people from France, Brazil, America all reported same sequence of events).

You study, get into top schools and then.. VISA becomes your biggest nightmare. Man oh man!

Since you are the principal applicant, their approval will follow only after yours and it'll be quick. Just hang in there, If you are from India where VACs haven't yet started 2-way courier service, then that might be putting your final decision on hold. And as immigration is not an exact science, I'd suggest don't quit the job unless you see that PPR in GCKey.

Thanks for the advice. And that’s definitely what I am doing. Quitting during the pandemic for the ‘hope’ of a visa? Nope. I saw many applicants on the bad side of this equation last year too (we were all bound for a top US school). That uncertainty only made me choose canada over full ride option in the US! So yeah, even though I am mentally checked out from my job, I am carrying on. Frustrating, yes!! But the right thing to do.

I am more or less in the same position as yours, now I can't work with the same vigor as before. Wish you all the best. May the coming weeks bring good news.

Absolutely! I applied on 30 April, 2 months before leaving for August classes and got a refusal. Ill be applying again end June in the hopes of getting it end July to leave in August and yeah I don't know when to resign. My boss will kill me when i will tell him, i am leaving in 10 days and I head my department so I cant just getup and leave. Stressful!

Hey! Same here. Applied 4th June got BVL 9th June from India. I have never seen this kind of trend before on this forum. Has anyone got a quick BVL for the first application itself? If not then it is very likely that a BVL is automatically generated once your biometrics is linked to your profile. Nothing is ever clear so we need to wait & see what fate brings us. Its like playing Russian roulette. :D

Exactly!!! But no one cares about all of this mental torture, sadly we are on our own. Even with everything right, its a gamble. Some of my classmates had to resign (even though they are waiting on permit decisions). India is a different beast altogether now. Covid is like not going away here and here is my boss asking me to travel, get on flights, book hotels and work from this week. Like this is the reason this country is getting a reputation worldwide!! Now imagine me not giving even half of my 2 month notice?? Lol.

All my hair will turn grey deciphering what IRCC means by their actions. A very toxic relationship that way hahaha. My advice is.. don’t waste time on speculations, even if I say one thing someone else will come with a better logic.. and your mind and heart won’t be at peace unless you get the actual answer.

i am in your exact shoes so I’m the one to talk!! But oh well, easier said than done. I better practice what I preach.
Lets keep on playing the waiting toxic game with our IRCC.

I applied (Non- SDS from Nepal) on April 19th and gave my biometrics on 21. My upfront medical status changed on June 3, but apart from that there is no change whatsoever. My eligibility review hasn't even started yet. I don't even know what to make of it. I have all my hopes on their "decision by August 6" promise. It's too stressful. Should I enquire or just leave it as is?

Enquiry never hurt anyone. The average time has come down to 7 weeks already and you are wayyy past that. August 6 will be too late for everyone whether pass or fail its a joke! If refused, you’re good for nothing. If approved then you have to wrap up job resignation, family, shopping, prep, all under 3 weeks (that too if stamping comes through hah!!)

I believe they DO NOT hold any grudges if you ask responsibly (i.e if the time has passed). So yeah you should inquire. I called my local embassy myself but they were clueless. I am contemplating calling IRCC canada via some apps but just haven’t done it yet. Webform will be next in line haha. Well, they also know the puddle they have left us in.
