By the way, does anyone see a pattern here or is it just me?

We’re still accepting new applications for citizenship.
We’re currently finalizing most applications we received between
May 12 and 18, 2019 ?
If your application is complex, it may take us longer to process it.

yeah donkeys work hard , cic sloths just slack off.
they do not have a process thats why our applications are in process .
The pattern of Mass destruction .
yeah they will announce to hire penguins which is not a bad idea because Penguins of Madagascar can do a better job than CIC sloths but again if they hire Canadian penguins then im afraid my status would change to " Application lost "
I LOVE YOU TRUMP! YOU'RE MY FAVOURITEST! ;)

I've got an interesting reply to the web form message yesterday. They prioritize travel-exempt people now? WTF?

My message:
Good day, I've applied for citizenship 15 month ago and didn't get any updates except AOR since. I understand you have a backlog, hence the timelines are missed. Was wondering if I'll get a test invitation soon or should I stop waiting for the Citizenship and start preparing my application for Permanent Residency renewal. Please advise.
CIC Response:
Good day smgn,

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

We verified the information you provided and can confirm that your application to become a Canadian citizen (grant of citizenship) is still in process.

At this time, all required documents and information have been received by the responsible office.

Due to COVID-19, IRCC is experiencing processing delays and we can't give accurate processing times for most types of applications. We're currently prioritizing applications from people who are exempt from travel restrictions.

We understand that this may be a difficult time for you and we are here to assist you by providing you with the information we have available at this time.

If you've already submitted an application to become a Canadian citizen (grant of citizenship), we invite you to visit our website to:

  • Check your application status,
    • the Client Support Centre agents cannot give you more information than what is available in the Client Application Status tool,
  • See where we're at with :
    • sending the acknowledgement of reception letters,
      • the date posted on our website is updated weekly,
    • processing during the pandemic,
      • the date posted on our website is updated weekly,
      • it is determined by looking at the applications we recently made a final decision on,
      • we then calculate the average date that we received those applications.
If an application is complex, it may take us longer to process it. It will also take longer to process an application if we need you to submit extra documents.

Rest assured that we are making all the necessary efforts to finalize your application as soon as possible, and that you will be informed when a decision is reached or if additional information is needed.

IRCC is working on giving you the most updated information as the situation evolves, and all our efforts are dedicated to answering your concerns. Our website is updated regularly as more information is made available.

Given these circumstances, we invite you to continue visiting our website regularly to receive up-to-date information as new announcements are made and to obtain information on travel restrictions and changes to our services that may affect you.

Furthermore, if you would like to renew your permanent resident card (PR card), you can submit your application if your card will expire in less than nine months (270 days).

You may however submit your application at any time if it is due to a legal name change.

Please note that if your PR card expires, this does not mean that you have lost your permanent resident status.

If you would like to apply for, renew or replace a permanent residence card (PR card), you can do so by following these instructions.

If your card was lost, stolen, destroyed or never received, please ensure you complete Section H (Solemn Declaration).

To find out how long it may take to process your application, please consult the processing times page.

We hope the information provided is helpful in assisting you with your enquiry.

We would also like to suggest the following online services that might be helpful to you with any immigration, refugee and/or citizenship future requests:

Sincerely,

Brittany, agent 4878
