I doubt anyone can tell you. They'll certainly look at it carefully, but if the documentation is good and convincing in all respects, they could just accept, or do an interview. Will this still cause any issue? I am totally mentally prepared for Additional Document Request/ interview or whatever. Some views would help! Thank you
Thanks! Yes we do hope so. We had a consultant go through it before we submitted the application. He seemed pretty confident that it was a strong case. We can only hope VO sees it the same way hahaI doubt anyone can tell you. Obviously a lot of marriages from India are arranged marriages where the rituals are important - but not all, and you're not the first.
We have something similar, couldn't have a wedding because of Covid..When was your app received at NDVO?HI everyone. Hope I will get some responses here. My file got transferred to NDVO and has not gone in process yet. I will give my case background as shortly as possible. We are very tensed about this whole situation.
We have known each other since high school (2009) and have been in touch. He moved to Canada for university in 2011 but we stayed in touch. We got into a relationship in 2017 and met in 2018 in India. Since then we have been to 4 international trips (only the two of us). We are both working professionals and have followed a more western style of dating. Being non-religious, we refused to do the traditional wedding. Ideally, we would have liked a small destinaton wedding but was not possible due to covid. In December 2020, we decided to do a small engagement, dinner parties, lot of celebration parties, and registry marriage. Parents and siblings were present throughout. However no relatives due to flying restrictions etc. To us, this was enough. We DO NOT intend to do any social marriage in future. That's just our belief. Our families are ok with that. We have provided tons of relationship proof, texts, calls, letters, photos from trips.
Will this still cause any issue? I am totally mentally prepared for Additional Document Request/ interview or whatever. Some views would help! Thank you
Been sitting there since early April 2021. I am assuming many people chose this path due to COVIDWe have something similar, couldn't have a wedding because of Covid..When was your app received at NDVO?

The instructions for spousal say clearly to not do an upfront medical . Do it early and you just increase chances you will have to redo later. For spousal it's unlikely doing upfront will speed it up.This is the response I received from Delhi when I asked about if I had to do upfront medical.
Dear Client,
Thank you for your email.
You must undergo a new medical if you lived in one or more of these countries or territories (includes India, Nepal and Bhutan) for at least 6 months within the past year and are planning to stay in Canada for longer than 6 months. When making an appointment with a Panel Physician for a new medical exam, please request an “Upfront Medical Exam”. Once IRCC has received the medical results from the Panel Physician, they will be associated to your application. Please continue to monitor your MyCIC account. If you have additional questions regarding Medicals, please access our frequently asked questions by scanning the QR code below with your mobile phone. Once scanned the linked document will be updated automatically without scanning the QR code again.. Please note that Panel Physicians are working to serve critical needs given the COVID situation in India so please refrain from booking an appointment at this time
This is what I understand as well. But in GCMS notes one of the comment says Upfront Medical Exam result not provided so I asked question to NDVO.The instructions for spousal say clearly to not do an upfront medical . Do it early and you just increase chances you will have to redo later. For spousal it's unlikely doing upfront will speed it up.
