I have admission in masters, great finances, age 35, single, got refused two times. Somehow I am not able to satisfy them. I applied under regular stream, will be applying under SDS no, but my motivation is low now.
Don’t lose motivation instead work on your profile and don’t rush into applying. Also SDS or NON SDS have only one difference that is time of processing, nothing else. Also don’t read cases of people and compare or lose hope. There are people in 40s getting approved for PG whereas there are people in 20s getting refused for expensive MBAs. There is no right requirements that you need to meet or formula you need to apply. Try answering and addressing every single problem that you think a VO can remove in your application. Trust me. I am 27, great grades, good enough finances, have assets in my home country yet was rejected. I cannot compare others’ situation and question mine. I’m working on making my application as strong in my capacity, you should do the same.I have admission in masters, great finances, age 35, single, got refused two times. Why? I think the old logic of upward progression does not work for everyone and all circumstances. If I don't have money for 55K Masters, I may opt to do PGDip for 35K.Applying for a PG diploma rarely makes sense after a masters degree as well.
Would suggest a better MBA program that requires GMAT. The fact that your whole family seems to have moved to Canada seems to also be affecting your application. Have you returned to work? Did you apply from a 3rd country? It looks like you may have worked primarily out of Pakistan. What were the reasons you were refused the 2nd time? What is your work and education history?I have admission in masters, great finances, age 35, single, got refused two times. Somehow I am not able to satisfy them. An expensive MBA means nothing. If it was expensive and ranked top 5 MBAs in Canada then that would be different.Don’t lose motivation instead work on your profile and don’t rush into applying. You seem uninformed on the degree and the subject. This is a proper recognized masters at a university and not a college. One doesnt pay CAD 40,000 if they arnt genuine. Since you gave your opinion, an MBA doesnt match my travel trade experience and would be a sure shot refusal. What schools? Would really recommend something more like an MBA. Tourism degrees are generally college degrees in Canada and aren't really known for their ROI.
Unfortunately and in many situation, they mention “no progression” when refusing application and some VO are specific with upward progression. VO decisions can not be the same between officers,Why? What university did you get admitted to?You seem uninformed on the degree and the subject. This is a proper recognized masters at a university and not a college. Masters carry more weight in general. It's a natural up-gradation post-Bachelors and a safer route for VO's approval.
I chose the first college I applied to and got accepted at. Everything happened so quickly for me; I went with the flow and didn't wait and ponder.
Some of the reasons I believe Masters is better:
1) It's so cool to study at a proper university. Most colleges that give PG Diploma are like degree mills. Half of your class will be filled with people who don't give a damn about studies.
2) Uni's offer a lot of scholarship. Colleges - hardly.
3) Seriousness. I am studying at one of the top colleges, yet I feel that the professors are not serious about their job. They don't feel qualified enough.
4) Many universities offered either more than 80% reimbursement from the compulsory hotel and home quarantines or provided free or heavily discounted quarantine stay at hostel premice. It proves tht they have the decency and resources to care for their students.
Hai Dear,
Thank you very much for the message and the time spend.
One more clarification, which will be the easiest way to get admission?? Collage PG Courses /University masters.
If possible can you please give few suggestions , how we can convince our aim in SOP at this age ??
All in all, don't listen to consultants who will tell you that you don't have enough scores in your graduation to qualify for universities. Apply and see.
Don't listen to them if they tell you you are too old for Universities.
Thanks for the motivation. I still don't understand what works, although I have spent hundreds of hours trying to know as much as I can. I still believe my application was complete, but they still refused. Have seen people getting approved with minimum documents and some even without an SOP. So many people who don't even know what PPR is are getting approved. So it's really disappointing when so much effort, time and money go into applying for Canada and still get denied.Don’t lose motivation instead work on your profile and don’t rush into applying. Most of those in my program have got their approvals, some of them even have done their MBA and this would be their second masters. I have worked outside Pakistan and have not been working by choice. I want to pursue masters at this time. I have no incentive to find work in home country at the moment or anywhere else at this time. I am an engineer with work in oil and gas industry. They have given all the reasons they could give, typical of them.Would suggest a better MBA program that requires GMAT. Its sad and frustrating. I have been refused once too and for me i think it was due to not attaching a SOP.Thanks for the motivation. This process is very unpredictable. A 40 year old can get through with a PGC and less funds and a 22 year old going for masters won’t get through with lots of funds. Honestly it’s all based on luck (for a lot of applications), not everyone will understand that here and they don’t have to. Your application, the place you are applying from and the VO your application was looked at by is a very case by case scenario which honestly nobody can give you a clear answer to. You can make a strong SOP and letter of explanation of the refusals. Upgrade course if necessary, add more funds + assets to strengthen home ties. It’s frustrating but people have gotten through after making significant changes. If you want I’ll send you an SOP and an LOE of a person who got refused thrice and got through the 4 time with the same course which was a 1 year finance PG certificate after 10 years of work experience. Most of those in my program have got their approvals, some of them even have done their MBA and this would be their second masters. I have addressed to each of their concerns in detail. I attached an SOP and an LOE.Its sad and frustrating. I have been refused once too and for me i think it was due to not attaching a SOP.
In each application, did you address refusal points? I have noticed thats the way forward learning through youtube videos and this forum.
What were the refusal reasons? And GCMS notes? What did that say?I have addressed to each of their concerns in detail. I attached an SOP and an LOE.
