Hi
I am applying for my citizenship in Canada and the application form asks for dates I obtained citizenship with any other countries. I have two to disclose - Costa Rica (born there) and US (naturalized). The effective date of my Costa Rican citizenship is obvious (birthdate).
However, I obtained my US citizenship in the 90s and I don’t have my citizenship certificate - in other words, I can’t find the date I obtained my US citizenship (over two decades ago).
I see USCIS describes a 5-8 month long process to obtain a copy of my citizenship certificate; do I have other options?
Can I mention an approximate date? Like the issue date of my first US passport which wasn’t long after I got my citizenship.
