What I know earlier if you sent through covid email then they used to sent Authorization email which we can show and travel...no need to send passport to visa office.
Not sure if rule changes.... better them some follow up email....
No longer the case. Travel authorization letter for PRTD was stopped mid Jan from what I saw in other forums. I have followed up asking for it multiple times too, was shot down each time !!

From which country you applied for PRTD and how much time it takes for approval?

I think it should not impact your PR card but not sure what they do??
It will not impact your PR card application. I know 1 person who received PRTD in India and then they issued PR card as well on Canadian address.

Rest assured, but in order to secure a PRTD please plan to travel for a longer duration. For now VFS India is not accepting passport request for the PRTD counterfoil.

Moreover, please ensure to get PR delivered to you in India by a close family member or friend.

As per IRCC operating procedures they use standard mail to send PR card, thats why they could not send it any address outside Canada.

I know many people who have done soft landing and PR cards were mailed to the address of their friends or relatives and later PR cards were sent to them by FedEx or other courier.

Did you find any reference, how this is illegal?

Some people have done it, please refer this thread : https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/sending-pr-card-outside-canada-via-courier.464454/
I haven't come across any such cases, but my friend warned about it. The thread addresses many of my questions. As it was raised in thread, I was more worried about chip card detection at customs. It's a relief.

COPR 5 Feb, Photos Received 11 Feb,
I just logged into my account and it was very normal under submitted status, but when I clicked on my application it was not loading so when I refreshed the page, the application status got updated to application/application updated.

Not sure if it's a system glitch or GU.

Just wanted to update here if anyone from Feb faced similar situation.
They is no GU or technical glitch for me. CoPR Jan 12.

Looks like you received a real update

No one cares, take them with you. Just in case, take some proof of family relationship with said person.
You are right. As long as I have authorization or proof of a family relationship, it should be fine. Without that, its definitely a matter of contention at immigration if they find it. They might question why I am carrying someone else's travel document.

In your case you would want to take PR card for your dependent, so it is very safe because you can keep it with your PR card. The PR card has a chip is similar to a credit or debit card that you will carry while traveling.

I completely agree that sending via FedEx or other courier is very risky, on the contrary getting it delivered by some close family member is very safe.

Moreover, IRCC doesn't have any specific rule for this scenario.

FYI, PR card is not a travel document, it is PR status document.

In order to travel every PR holder needs a travel document such as Passport.

Yep, I should have put it in different words. PP is a travel document, however, for PRs, card is a mandatory document to enter Canada.

This happened to me a lot during the PR application. The real GUs can be seen upon login. If you see an update after trying to open the application but failings, it's most likely a glitch.
I never got any GU during my PR process due to glitch ....but as you said many used to get glitch GU...I am so stressed with IRCC system that now a days I am not considering these GUs at all ..Just waiting for my PR card once I got I swear I will forget IRCC for 5 years...m
