IMM1344 Sponsor residency declaration & IMM5589 Checklist

Advice on which to select for the sponsor residency declaration/ checklist section for an outland application.

Some brief background about me. I am a Canadian citizen, have lived in Canada since I was 2 (currently 30). Basically my whole life, and I am now applying for this PR application with my common-law partner who is Taiwanese while I am abroad in her home country. I have spent the last 2 years outside Canada. 1 year in the UK as a citizen and it will be 1 year this coming September in Taiwan with a visa granting temporary residence. It has always been my plan to return to Canada after these events. I have never considered these countries my home.

Now for the question 1: ‘Are you a Canadian citizen living exclusively outside Canada?’ -Yes or No.

Question 2: ‘Do you reside in Canada and in no other country?’ -Yes or No.

Question 3: ‘Are you (the sponsor) a Canadian citizen living outside Canada?’ -Yes or No.

I guess the confusion for me is, while yes at the moment I am ‘living’ outside Canada, and have been since September 2019, it has never been intended as permanent for me, I have always had the intentions of returning to Canada after being abroad for this duration. And for question 2- I consider Canada my home but I am currently in another country on a year long visa. Which is the proper direction to go?

Any advice is appreciated,
Thanks.

You are overthinking. Right now, you live outside Canada - exclusively - by any reasonable test, unless for example you're spending six months a year or more in Canada. Your 'permanent' intentions are not asked about here.

I think after that all the answers are clear.
