Hi, I am feb 2020 applicant, fingerprint request 4 March 2021, fingerprint taken 12 March 2021.
Currently I am outside canada and plan to return after 2 months, is it necessary to inform CIC about my current address or just wait for test invite and update at that time.

AOR: 14 Sep 2020

Test Invite: April 28, 2021

However, bad news is that I'm stuck in India unexpectedly because of the flight ban. :(
Does anyone know if CIC is being lenient with allowing people to give the test while abroad? I really don't want to postpone the test, so I might want to scramble to get back to give the test if CIC doesn't allow. I do not want to risk my health though. Even if I wanted to postpone it, I wouldn't know when to postpone it to, because there is no certainty as to when the ban will be lifted!

No need to inform. Just wait for test invite. Test invite might take time but sometimes if you are lucky and if some officer is working fast then only you would get it in the next 2 months or else its going to take a long time hence dont slow it down by updating anything on your file(who knows what they would do to slow it for any update on address/anything).

I dont think anyone posted on trying to postpone and got an answer but you can give it a try as thats your last option.
Not sure if you can transit through some other country but do we have any other flight route? or is it completely banned outgoing?

Well there is an option to go through the US, but it's a bit risky as you could potentially get the virus on the way and you will be stuck in the US for 14+ days until you recover and you wouldn't have health insurance. I don't want to take on that much risk.

Do you know what number to call and what options should be selected, to talk with an agent?
i think its still the same number to call 1888-242-2100. I dont remeber all the exact options, i think the only tricky one is where they ask if you are a CEC applicant or something , or if you want to update your information or, you have to select the first one, the rest should be pretty easy to follow.
you need to provide your UCI up front (before you can continue I believe).

To those who took the exam, how was it? Is reading the Discover Canada enough to pass it? Thanks!
Yes reading the Discover Canada Guide is enough to pass. I took a day to read and understand the guide and made sure I knew the answers to the questions at the end of the guide. Then on the next day I did the practice questions from this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cobratech.kurian.canadacitizenshiphelper and on the 3rd day I wrote the exam and got all 20 correct.

No one knows when and where you would get infected hence there is no safe travel either to Canada or to US.
ON has no waiting period if you are moving. If you are visiting then anyway you need to have travel insurance which would cover for it - whether its a pandemic or not.
Why would you get stuck in US since you are going to get negative report from India before boarding hence you can travel within 72 hours and cross the border as well.

If you are worried about the travel itself then you need to test the option of requesting cic to allow you to attend the exam from abroad. Decide soon and request since cic will take 2 weeks to respond.

If he is travelling from India via an indirect route like via the US he will need to get a new negative covid-19 test from the US before boarding the flight to Canada, this is something that the government is putting in place to close all loopholes.

https://travel.gc.ca/destinations/india
During that period, passengers who travel to Canada from India via an indirect route will need to obtain a pre-departure negative COVID-19 molecular test result from a third country before continuing their journey to Canada.

Received test invite today. Please update the row in the tracking sheet.

Like few others here, I am also in India now and it seems I cannot be back in Canada before the specified Test End date.

Planning to request CIC to either allow me to attend the test from India (which I don't think they will agree) or to postpone the test until I am back in Canada(unfortunately, there is no definite date that can be given right now). I guess the test can be postponed even twice or thrice, since there are valid reasons (flight unavailability and the risk of getting COVID during the travel).

Hoping that CIC wouldn't reject the application due to failure to attend the test within few months of the initial test invite.

Requesting anyone who has contacted CIC with the same request, to share their experience.

Sorry to hear you are in the same boat as me, and hope we can give the exam from India. Are you not planning to get back through the US or something?
