Outland application, currently in Canada, no visa required, where to send passport photocopy?

Hi, very sorry if this is written about already. I haven't been able to find the answer. We received PPR recently, and we are a bit confused about the wording of the letter. We are not sure where to send the photocopy of the passport. Warsaw or Ottawa ...

1. Outland PR application.
2. In Canada for 7 months now.
3. Visitor record application in progress.
4. Does not require a visa to enter Canada (just eTA).

The PPR letter says.
1. If visa required, send passport to warsaw.
2. If no visa required, send photocopy to warsaw.
3. If you are in canada, you *can send your passport* to Ottawa.

So we are in Canada, but don't need to submit passport. Can we send the photocopy to Ottawa? Really wish the wording was explicit for our case.

Thank you!

Although I don't know the logic, I think you should follow the instructions to send passport to Ottawa.

If you prefer, you could call ircc to check. Possibly email Warsaw, sometimes they respond quickly.

Hi @AdrianVilnius - did you submit your passport or a photocopy to Ottawa? I'm in the same boat and slightly unsure because of the wording but I do believe it's a passport copy that needs to be submitted?

Hi Vaidawall, we submitted passport photocopies to Ottawa. We received COPR letter electronically shortly after that. I checked the tracking number for the return envelope they asked to send, but it hasn't been used yet. The COPR letter indicates we should send some passport photos to a vancouver office in order to receive the PR card. So it's all good, if a bit confusing :)

Hi there! I have a question for you: You are both in Canada but submitted an outland PR application. Did you have to change any information with IRCC during the process to let them know that you were both in Canada? We plan on being in Canada before the end of the process and worry that we'll encounter a situation where we MUST leave the country to finish the process.

Also, any chance you could share the letter (removing all personal info of course) you got offering those 3 choices?

Yes you must update your address if you move. If an interview is required the sponsored person would have to return to their home country.

Yes this. We used the online address change form linked from "My Application" on the IRCC homepage. After that, all the electronic communication had our Canadian address in the letterhead.

@Fang_89 Sorry I won't share any communication from IRCC.

No worries, perfectly understandable! Thanks for your help!
