Booking vaccine appoints in Canada from abroad?

My wife and I (She is Canadian, I am American) are currently living in South Korea where we work as teachers. We have to leave Korea in early July so she can start a new job in Canada. My PR is in process but I understand I'm exempt from the travel restrictions as her spouse. We would ideally get the vaccine in Korea before leaving here, but the vaccine rollout here is really slow and it likely won't be possible before we leave the country. I'm wondering if it's possible for us to book a vaccine appoint in advance in Ontario. We would like to get the vaccine ASAP, and we would like to be able to demonstrate our intent to be vaccinated to the border officer as well. Just in case, we are going to land in Buffalo, NY. As a US citizen, I can get the vaccine there, and since undocumented immigrants are allowed to get it too in the US, I assume my wife will be able to as well. It would be much more conducive to our plans to get vaccinated in Canada though. We'll be in Ontario. Does anyone know if it's possible to book an appointment from abroad? Thank you for any info :)

No you are unlikely going to be able to book a vaccine from abroad because you won't have a valid OHIP card. Not sure if there are limits when it comes to IP addresses. It is impossible to predict what will be happening in July and you have 2 weeks of quarantine to look into vaccination appointments. Depending on how long your wife has been away she may need to reapply for OHIP. You won't qualify for OHIP if you haven't reached the AIP stage of processing.

Thanks for the quick reply. Can she apply for OHIP before arrival? I was under the impression that vaccines did not require status or OHIP coverage as per this story. Has the situation changed? https://www.cicnews.com/2021/01/coronavirus-vaccines-will-be-available-to-immigrants-in-canada-0116718.html#gs.zgbnl9

To book online you often need an OHIP card number although you can check the municipality you will be moving to in Ontario much closer to your travel time. Vaccine clinic are only booking a week maybe 2 in advance. You need to apply for OHIP in person. You should read the residency requirements to qualify for OHIP.

You can certainly try booking it in advance. July is too far in advance to book right now. I would see if you can book online around 2-3 weeks before you travel to Canada - so sometime in June. You'll need the address of where you will be living in Canada.

Actually the rollout in the US is quicker because the vaccines are manufactured there.
