If your application has started processing, it cannot be rejected, unless you do not meet the eligibility criteria. After the application processing starts, a decision has to be given.

So with eligibility passed and some background checks passed, and even for some of us here with everything passed - the tunnel is longer but it surely has light at the end. This keeps me positive in these stressful times -
All’s well that ends well

Our officer is gonna wake up one day and approve us all, albeit whenever that can be with a painful wait.

If you read this amazing post from a forum user, it gave me some relief and motivation too -

Best of luck and I wish this misery ends in April for us all.
Well once the eligibility is passed there is no issue or stress of our file will.be rejected if we have clean background...and most of apr and may applicamts have already passed that stage just waiting either security/criminal/both pending with which we know our files will.be approved but it is just matter of when the officer will get back to it...my criminality is pending and i know it will pass as i know i have clean background likewise most of us...i was expecting something about movement of all.pending files looking at the first sentence...

Fake GU's what is the supposed to mean?
This usually happens when a backend process execute in the PR Processing application system. Some are intentional upgrade for status update and other are unintentional (due to a bug in the software). so don't give importance to these kind of low level updates

I’m thinking these officers need to go into the office for the backlogged files like ours, hence the delay. Newer files from August are maybe easily assessed from home and that is why we were seeing trickles when they went in and approved a few applications last month but now with the stay at home order, we’re in no man’s land. Any theories?

Makes sense but i guess during months of feb-march do you think they were still.working from home? I mean now they might be but before this stay at home order is back...

It's a good news, but meanwhile it's so unfair that the final decision comes so late after all the stages are passed. If everything has a "green light", why do we have to wait months before the final decision?
Do you have any update on your application? I never asked if you are inland or outland

I am Inland CEC, single applicant. NOC 2171. Straight forward file, and all good as per GCMS notes. Last time I heard was in Feb end that Eligibility passed, Criminality in Progress and Security Not Started. After that I didn't contact IRCC and waiting... They just think my NOC is not essential in these COVID times, maybe :(

Certain processing aspects need to be done in their offices for security reasons. IRCC explained this to an extent
So this might explain the delays for the older files. Officers assigned to our applications may be working from home and our files are at that stage where they need to get into the office to finalize them.
