Hi,

Just got married to my wife who is Canadian. We got married a couple of months ago and are now living together in Toronto. I landed in Canada at the start of February 2021. We are completing an Inland application for Spousal Sponsorship.

In the documents checklist (IMM 5533), part B, question 1, under 'Supporting documents for Sponsored Persons';

The second checkbox is asking me to provide proof of my status. I have a visa-exempt passport that lets me stay in Canada for up to 6 months.

I already provided a copy of my passport in response to the first checkbox so do I leave the second checkbox empty? Am I expected to classify myself as someone without status and attach a letter to the application to explain myself? If I understand correctly, I do have a status - 'foreign national'. I just can't provide additional evidence beyond the passport itself.

Show the stamp in your passport from entering Canada or other evidence from the day you entered Canada.
