Hi Eithan ,

I am not sure but I see the line in the article (The public has 30 days from the date the proposal was published in the Gazette to offer comments before it is finalized. ) So I feel its a norm to publish it in public before it takes into effect .

It is going to be 30 days soon, it was released in March.
Anyway this will take time until fully implemented since they will need to go through training and some minor system change.
They are just taking the temporary policy and make it permanent..

Hi there
Can I ask when you all went for your medicals what documents you all took regarding child autism...
I did mine in June 2020.

After medical examination I went to my son's pediatrician to send a summary of his medical file.
In November 2020 I voluntarily send them ABA,BI and daycare report.
That's it..

Eventually it all depends what you tell to the medical doctor when you will go to do your medical exam and supporting documents.
If they will mark your children as M5, The process will be longer.

Hello all,

any updates from anyone?
This wait is so exhausting. I am wondering if there is any way to find the processing time for CMAU, there should be some way to have some kind of accountability from them or transparency in their processing times.
i am just venting my frustration, but if anyone has any information or ideas, kindly share.

There is no way to know what’s their processing time officially.
Before Covid you can see in the forum that it took 1-2 month.
Today you can see it takes 11-12 month...

Hello Eithan,

yes you are right. 1-2 months was reasonable, but waiting for almost a year is too much. I know we are all helpless in this regard, was just trying to see if there was any way we could do something about it. My application processing time is 90% done and completes on 20th June 2021. was planning to wait till then and then connect with the lawyer you mentioned in one of your previous post. Have you connected with the lawyer ? is there any update on that front?

thanks for hearing me out.

Yes I did and I’m suppose to sign a consent form this week so he can act on my behalf.
First I’ll start with a demand letter to see why are they delaying our applications.
After that I suppose if I’m not alone in this case because it’s expensive, I want to go to court to repeal Section 38 (1) (c) of the IRPA regarding autism.

Hi everyone,
First of all, I would like to wish you all good luck with your applications. And God bless your kids and your family.
As I could read through your post, I can understand that you are already there, waiting for PR.
I was wondering if you would give me your advice, as I’m outside Canada, and I was just about to apply for immigration through “Express Entry” program, and my little one (5y old) has mild autism but non-verbal, but I’ve found this forum and thought I might have no chance at all. What would you say? Should I still apply?

How exactly you don't have a chance? If it's because of the autism you are wrong.
Your little one will not be refused.
If you are eligible and pass the express entry so why not? go for it.
