Hi, can you please share are you copr pre march 2020 or post. TIAI ALSO RECEIVED EMAIL FROM IRCC IN SPAM FOLDER ON 7 APRIL 2020, IN WHICH IRCC ASKED ME TO SUBMIT MY RESPONSE BEFORE 16 APRIL OTHERWISE MY FILE WILL BE PERMANENTLY CLOSED.
Only bad news for applicants that need to provide (extra) documents....https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/news/notices/supporting-information-applications-in-progress.html
Looks like some things are getting in motion.
I hope they start letting approved CoPRs in as well.
Optimism is the key my friend..Only bad news for applicants that need to provide (extra) documents....
Clearly mentioned that:
Foreign nationals whose application for a visitor visa or permanent residence is approved are not eligible to travel to Canada at this time, unless they’re exempt from the travel restrictions.
ThanksSent the response same day I received it.
You could call them up to double check your case
Sorry... I've lost my optimism in the past yearsOptimism is the key my friend..
One has to keep in mind that they are talking about either finalizing applications of closing them.. This indicates towards freeing up their workforce.. One would free up their workforce to indulge them into other work.. That other work in my opinion is processing regular FSW applications.. A free-healthcare country like Canada would invite foreigners only during a pandemic when they are sure they have/will have the pandemic under control so as to not overburden health infrastructure.. Thus, in my opinion travel restrictions are going away soon.. how soon? Maybe 2-4 months from now..
This is based on what I think of the recent events and is subject to change
Family reunification is important because people need their loved ones in these harsh timesSorry... I've lost my optimism in the past years
Ofcourse they are aware that letting people in could cause a disaster.
But someone with a relative in Canada can carry the virus as much as I can.
An US citizen can carry the virus as much as I can...
A temporary worker........ Same story.
The US citizens part must have changed last update and I didn't mention it, my bad.Family reunification is important because people need their loved ones in these harsh times
US citizens cannot cross border at the moment unless they are exempt
With nursing shortages and trucking staff, I don't need to explain why the risks outweigh the benefits.. right?
I understand where you are coming from.. but step into their shoes.. if you had you wouldn't have made the three comparisons you did..
I dunno why are you saying that about US citizens but read this - https://www.washingtonpost.com/travel/2021/02/25/canada-border-us-reopen/The US citizens part must have changed last update and I didn't mention it, my bad.
But they were allowed to travel before.
Nursing and trucking staff wasn't the group I was pointing at... I ment the temporary farm workers on a work permit for example.
International students would have missed their first year of college, or would have to start their college one year later... but hey, what's the difference... I also missed out on my arranged job, they hired someone else in the meantime.
Family reunification indeed is very important... But when they figured out a way for them to enter/land safely, CoPR holders without relatives could land the same safe way.
I will probably be misunderstood or hated by posting this, but:
Most of this people use it as a great chance (which I would do also) to land as PR... If family reunification would be primary reading, they wouldn't have waited alle this time, as the relative still had the option to travel to their home country to be with their loved ones
Totally agree with all the points except the fact that they are bending over backwards.. I don't for a minute think that is true. IRCC is slow and I mean really slow in processing files. It's been an entire year and they still don't have an idea of how to handle the immigrants during the pandemic. There have been 4-5 versions of the do you want to immigrate mail itself. That clearly shows how mismanaged the system and its staff is.I dunno why are you saying that about US citizens but read this - https://www.washingtonpost.com/travel/2021/02/25/canada-border-us-reopen/
"Americans have been unable to visit Canada since early 2020 because of coronavirus restrictions"
Farm workers are tough to find in Canada, and if you don't grow.. well we all know what happens
International students bring in a LOT more foreign money than PRs. Universities employ local people.
For a person who is in Canada, Canada is a better place as compared to where ever he or she is from. Thus, looking towards interest of people present in Canada, family reunification.
I think you are not looking from a broader perspective as I requested before. I hope to have settled your thoughts.
Be calm. Good will happen.
Or if you are so negative about Canada, there are other options too.
I am grateful to Canada for giving me the opportunity of dreaming to be a PR and I don't like people speaking ill of their practices when they are bending over backwards for us
I think that most people are grateful at having been given the opportunity to move to Canada but 'bending over backwards for us' I doubt many feel that they are doing this for us.I dunno why are you saying that about US citizens but read this - https://www.washingtonpost.com/travel/2021/02/25/canada-border-us-reopen/

hindsight vision is always 20 20Totally agree with all the points except the fact that they are bending over backwards.. I don't for a minute think that is true. And most of all there is zero communication towards people whose files are stuck and not moved since a year or of copr holders who are approved and don't know when they can travel. That I feel is the least of all they could have done. It took them 1 year to send out an email saying don't worry your copr even if expired will not mean you lost your place. Seriously!!
But like everyone on the group keeps saying.. keep faith and wait.. thas all one can do when we don't know what to do!!
Consider normal processing time when an applicant used to send 2-3 webforms on an avg vs now with people as old as april 2019 aor waiting to land.. could be even older i dunno.. now the average number of webforms one sends is way higher than before.. customer centers were already struggling before pandemic and have now to respond to so many people sending webformsI think that most people are grateful at having been given the opportunity to move to Canada but 'bending over backwards for us' I doubt many feel that they are doing this for us.
We were approved last year and have had to watch our documents expire due to the restrictions.
This whole time we have received no personal response to a webform... Not even to say 'don't worry, you won't be refused.'
I do agree with some of your other points and do believe we will get some joy in the next 2-4 months.
I'll agree to disagree and might read this forum once in a while, but won't bother any of you with my nonsense.I dunno why are you saying that about US citizens but read this - https://www.washingtonpost.com/travel/2021/02/25/canada-border-us-reopen/
