I'm a principal applicant and applied application under family sponsorship in Sept 2020. My question is my sponsor's passport number is renewed with the new number recently, so how can we update this information in our application? Do we need to fill the form IMM5476 (Use of representative). My current application status is:
Biometrics Number: Generated on 23rd April 2021
Medical Result: Passed on 4th April 2021

Don't think the sponsor's passport matters - if citizen, they have the data linked otherwise and won't need to issue anything new to sponsor; if a PR, it's the PR card/UCI number that matters, and those won't change.
Fill in the use of representative form if you wish to have the sponsor as rep.
After sponsor approval, can't see any reason for it - background after that is background of applicant.
If you're worried, it won't hurt to send IRCC copy of the sponsor's new passport.
Thank you for your response, Do you know how to send the copy of sponsor's new passport or if we want to update any information in our application?
Has anyone successfully called ircc from outside canada? Is there any way to trick the system into thinking you're calling from canada?
