Just curious who is gonna receive the AOR email the applicant, sponsor or both ??. Though I'm a representative on my spouse's application.

My husband (PA) received BIL today with an application # starting with F. This is the first communication we have received about our application. No AOR yet. We were starting to wonder if our application was lost so it's good to know they have it at least.

Application was received October 21st. Outland UK.
Received AOR today! Super relieved now. The October spreadsheet is filling up slowly but surely!

Just got SA too! Next step is the CSQ as we’re applying through Quebec.

Timeline so far - Outland UK/Quebec Applicant:

App received: 21/10/20
BIL: 08/04/21
AOR1: 09/04/21
SA: 09/04/21

I’m guessing the medical request comes after the CSQ?

Can someone in this forum confirm the veracity of the IRCC agent's answer?
My application was received on 15 September and nothing since that day except the temporary number. I called this morning to inquire about the status and the attendant told me that my application in under backgound checks, Does that make sense? BGC before AOR and medical exam. please share similar cases... Thanks

are you sure you checked your email and there was no prior AOR sent??
You shoukd call IRCC again to inquire about your application if you're told the same then let them know u haven't received AOR.

No, it doesn't make sense at all. They told me that so many times and when I ask how come they don't even check the completeness of the file, then they do BGC. They always try to turn around without answer. Finally, I realized they only use that to calm down applicants since BGC is black box.

Hello all,
New member, though I have been reading lots over time. Sent in my package for my USA husband Oct 20th and just received email that I have a UCI number now. I have a question about changing status though. (quick back story, we have been married 9 years, I went on K9 Visa to marry my husband and lived with him in the US. The plan was always to come back 'home' to Canada, but he had a daughter he was raising and wanted to be in her life. Skip to me moving back home first, to get everything ready so that he could join me and we do family class visa. )
We were slowly getting paperwork ready, but hadn't sent it in yet, and in that time, I went blind in a freak accident. So we put in paperwork as soon as we could, Oct 2020. Of course with Covid, there was no visiting back and forth like we usually did, and being thrust in a new world with my sight loss, we asked questions from a lawyer of the chances of husband moving here to be with me while we waited for paperwork. (we waited for him to move once the borders were opened back up for family) We knew that there would be a tricky chance that he could be turned away and not let in due to him "staying". So he took our full package (copy) with him with the payment receipt for immigration, and a car load full of personal items.
Well, he had no problems at the border (though they did go through the package thoroughly ) and the reasons were that we were married long term, and that I needed him because of caregiving. (They did see the receipt of our package to immigration from their computers at the border) They gave him paperwork and told him that he should apply for extension to stay if we didn't hear anything in the first 5months. (he would have to drive back end of June, but we had plans for if that happened) They said not to worry, that as long as he filed for extension, or changed his status and applied for Work permit. (kinda same thing lawyer had said, file for work permit if he got in to stay)
Sooo my question is.. now that I have a number to contact Immigration with, we obviously need to change husbands address to my address now that he is with me. Is there something I would have extra to do to change him to Inbound ? application.. and do a work permit right away? Is the best to call immigration and relay this to them?
Sorry for the long winded post and spelling mistakes. I only have pinhole vision left. lol
