Agreed. An RQ can extend the process to forever.
Yes, in fact there was someone on here who recently had to forgo their citizenship due to not meeting their RO. However, they passed the test with a 20/20 in 2017, and had been dabbling with the RQ ever since. Dabbling until they received a negative determination on their file, and have to potentially restart the whole immigration process from scratch. That is a significant price to pay.

Further, it is often the case that if one is issued an RQ, then they will likely find it quite exhausting to fill out as a result of their own circumstances: they have either travelled outside a lot, or have moved addresses a lot, or have straight up fabricated their information.

Exactly. If you travelled like 10 times in the past 5 years that's probably fine. But if you travel to like 50 countries with minimum RO that will definitely trigger something. The key is apply when you are 100% sure you are not in breach with RO, and have enough days, sufficient proof of your tie in Canada, and also be honest with entry/exit record, especially now CBSA has started collecting exit record. There are many factors to consider in their decision.

Yet RQ is not related to your plans after citizenship, but regarding how you spent your time during residency ... if you didnt travel frequently for the last three years, and were working and paying taxes from a registered organisation or you were enrolled in college or university, it is much less likely to get an RQ just caus you said you may live temporarily somewhere else .
