Police Certificate from Qatar when living in Toronto

Hi,

I am currently a student and have applied for the Post Graduate Work Permit. I would also like to start the process of my PR.
I have learned that the requirements of getting the PCC from Qatar include:

• Original fingerprints certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Qatari Embassy in the country where you are currently residing.

Two questions:
1. Has there been anyone who has obtained these fingerprints and certified them from the above authorities while living in Canada? If you can guide me through the most efficient and cost-effective way of getting this done, I would appreciate it.
2. I have a friend who can apply on my behalf from Qatar. I have read on online forums that Qatar sometimes requires blood relatives to apply. However, on the Canadian Immigration website below it says friends can apply too. Is there a recent update on what is the actual rule? Applying through the Embassy of Qatar can take about 6 months from what I have heard.

I sent my Qatar PCC request directly to CEID. I sent by UPS then I included prepaid airway bill to return the document. However, I still didn’t receive it and last Thursday it was still in process with CEID.

So you did not use your friend in Qatar to apply for PCC? When did you applied? Do you know how much time it will take to get the document? And I went through website for Ministry of Interior Qatar I did not find any information related to Police Certificate. Can you please help me send the link?

I did not use a friend because they were busy during weekdays with work.

I have submitted my package via UPS and was received last March 18 by Mr. Mohamed Al Badri. Until now there was not update and they were not giving any timeline as to when they will send the PCC. I keeps on sending email follow-up but they are taking too long to reply. Even they are not answering their phone lines.

Alternatively, I am now trying to communicate with Canada Helpline Group to arrange the process. They said it will takes around 25 to 30 working days to arrange the PCC.

I have also inquired with Afreno, for them it will takes around 7 to 10 working days but cost more.

Thank you @smm_0411 for your reply.. I have also contacted both of the agency you mentioned. Yes I agree with you Afreno was expensive and promised to provide PCC on short duration. My friend from Qatar said I only require POA to get PCC.. But it need to be Authenticated, notarized and also have to go through embassy.. I think it will take 15 days in Canada and after POA is at Qatar it will take 4-7 days I guess. Lets see what happens.. We need PCC as soon possible. Hope everything goes well. And wish you get your PCC as soon possible..

Hello, I'm in a bit of a situation and would really appreciate your comforting on this. I've submitted my PR application after receiving an ITA and used a Qatar police certificate that I got from outside of Qatar.

The certificate is bilingual but it has a stamp from the ministry of foreign affairs in the top right corner since I got it from outside of the country.

I didn't get the document translated as I thought all the information was there in both languages but now having second thoughts on whether that stamp/seal should've been translated. I'm still waiting for my application to be processed.

Did you translate yours when applying?

Do you think I should be worried?

Really appreciate your help on this.
