Spousal temp visa

Hello,

We have applied for my spouse PR last year from the USA. Since October of last year she has been in canada, in the hope that her PR would be approved by now, and we are coming to the 6 months that she may need to leave canada so she doesn't overstay.

The question is, given the border situation, can we apply for a visitor visa for her to stay longer until the PR is approved, if so, should we be applying for a visitor's visa or a visitors record?

Did you apply through the inland route and include an OWP with the application?

We did an outland application and no owp was included.

In that case you would apply for an extension to the visitor status.
