CIC was sitting on my file for months and then I sent them a request via Web Form to prioritize my application by justifying my essential service to Canada and within 5 days received the test invitation. Today, along with my wife, passed the test and waiting for next steps :)
Any idea, how long it may take to receive the test validation email and invitation to oath?
@ahmed29s it takes about 3 to 4 weeks for either decision made, or if additional docs or interview is required. Good luck. I like the fact , that you had to draw their attention, actually stating your situation and essential work

As @Cafollower said look for the email in your spam folder. All communications come via email. I have never received anything by post. Well if you don't see the email by Monday, try checking using a webform.

Thanks for the responses guys. I received the e-mail today, I need to provide FP again. I had done the same in Nov 2019 and received test invite for Mar 2020. Not sure why they've gone back a few steps. I'm guessing because the FP were done over a year ago.

Question for you matlal: Did you receive 2nd FP request after receiving test invite? Your signature states 2nd FP request in Feb 2021 and Test invite in Jan 2021.

Thank you

@DOD yes, it was actually 3 weeks after the test invite was sent. Apparently the first one expired, that was done in Nov 2019. Similar to your case.

I am on the same boat. So, may be I should expect a 2nd FP request by this week..... (oh no, not again!!)

Yeah if there was first request, and if that has expired, a second one coming your way for sure. And unfortunately that's delays it by another 3 weeks. Well if it doesn't, you are lucky

OMG I looked at my application status and it says Decision Made. My heart skipped a beat when I saw that and completely forgot about what happens next.

Did you do the test?

How do you determine the local office that is processing your application. Is it the office that sends the test invitation?

Yes, because tests and oaths were traditionally done in person, hence the local office sends the test and oath invitations. This doesn’t seem to have changed in spite of the online shift.

That helps, thanks. Will send them a note, seeking an update

I did my FP in November 2019 and although one year already passed I didn't get a new request. I called them and asked if they can send me a new request and they said that they can't and that I should wait for the officer to request them.

Yes, unfortunately, you would have to wait for the file to be picked up. There is no speeding that process. Don't worry you will just lose about 3-4 weeks. It's has been this long, one more month will not be that much. Not to worry ,time will fly. Enjoy the spring weather. The good news, is that once the fingerprint is submitted, they take very less time to move to next stage interview or decision made.

Hey @matlal
I submitted my FP today, let’s hope there is some quick movement on this. We have similar timelines, I’m applying from Milton ON, where did you apply from?
