I hope you were able to justify why you want to pursue practical nursing after receiving a B.Sc in Biochemistry to the VO?

All the best.

Good evening everyone....I just want to clarify an issue: I've been requested by IRCC to go for my medical examination. I have booked to do this in Abuja...but I saw that among the requirements is included four recent photographs....Am I supposed to go along with four photographs....should this be passport-size photographs??...I'll appreciate clarification from those who understand how the medical examination exercise is conducted.

Hello worshipper,

Thanks for your post. However, I find your story quite far-fetched.

Are you talking about a Canadian Institution that is a DLI that refuses to refund all your money after you have proved that your visa was refused? I have been in this business since 2013, never have I had trouble withdrawing funds from a Canadian DLI on grounds of visa refusal. I know they will charge about $200CAD admin fee for the refund but that is already stated within the withdrawal policy. In fact most withdrawal policies are such that when a student has even gotten their permits, and are in Canada already and have only attended lectures for a specified period of time and then decide to quit the program, they are entitled to get their full refund. So name the school here, I will investigate why... I will rather pay money to a Canadian DLI and go to sleep than borrow my neighbor money. The reason is simple. I am 100% certain that I will get the refund back!

For others reading this, the Canadian study permit approval rates for Nigerians as at 2017 is less than 15%, by now it will be about 10%, 2018 report is not yet out. What is the implication of this, it means if 1,000 people apply for study permits from Nigeria only 100 will get their visas approved. This means you must do everything necessary to convince the VO of 3 basic things

1. Clear purpose of visit- Study via your LOA

2. Ability to Fund item (1)- Best you pay at least a semester, if you were working with me, I would demand you pay for a year, or else I would not touch your application. Even this is not a Guarantee, but its better than not paying at all.

3. Intention to return to home country after studies- This is the trickiest part of any Canadian study permit.

Many people do not actually have the funds, they just get a third party to put money in their accounts for them to present to the VO, well the embassy is very aware of this fact, and unless your parents are well known multimillionaires, just showing bank statement in an account will not convince the VO that the funds are actually at your disposal when it is time to put in the application. Please note that one of the major reasons it takes forever to get your study permit decision is the amount of investigation the VO is doing on your application and documents submitted, as well as background checks on source of income.

In the end its your choice, if you choose, pay your tuition, if you like don't pay, wetin your see, na you know.

Cheers

Hi

Hi Brian,

Mine took quite long too. I will advice you write again using the appropriate web form. If they say they are still working on it then they are really. Sometimes it takes forever with the Canadian embassy but when they come through, they actually do. Mine took like 2months after I had surpassed the initial deadline and yet they kept assuring me that they are working on it. Until i finally got my visa. In all it took me 4months. I'm a stickler for pressing on, until you get what you want. Especially when you have done what you need to do.
Hello brian pls can u give me any information on how to start the application?

Hi, pls I just got admission offer from Humber College for post graduate study in Wireless Telecommunication, a friend of mine told me that I should apply for study permit via Nigeria Student Express (NSE), that processing is within 20 working days, pls what do you know about this NSE, has anybody used it and got his study permit within 20 working days? I will also like to know if I can use my bigger cousin with different username as my sponsor though I have my own salary account but with no enough fund.

Hello everyone, I was recently refused study permit and my consultant wants me to go for JR (at no further cost). Now, the program I initially applied for will not be open until September 2021 (since I've missed this year's intake)- in fact, September applicants are on waitlist already, meaning I might not get a slot still. If the JR is settled out of court and I am told to resubmit a valid LOA, I'd like to know if it is possible to go for a similar program in another province or what the implication is. I got another admission offer from another province after I had submitted my application (and that offer is still open, no waitlist- plus living expenses are reasonably better than the first school). Do I have to stick to the same school, or wait till the final decision and change later? Please advise.
Hello everyone,

I have a few updates on my case.

After I got the Study Permit refusal, I applied for JR, and the application was reopened in December 2020. At this time, I had requested a refund from my first college of choice (because I had given up on this route) and started TEF classes to see if I could stand a chance. So, when I got the reopening email, I had to quickly look for another school to give me a LOA, as it was one of the conditions to process the SP application. Luckily for. me, I got admission from Conestoga College within 2 days). So, I used that. and sent another LOE to explain to the officer that the original LOA isn't valid anymore, but I have another.

Fast forward to February 2021 and now, I wrote and passed TEF, my EE score is now 535, and I also received my PPR for SP application yesterday.

While I'm still confused as to what to do- whether to go to Canada to start the program or wait here for ITA, I want to thank everyone for their contribution and advice, and update you on the status of things.

Thank you

Congratulations!

I am very happy for you, your consultant did a good job.

To cut the long story short. Go to Canada, start the new program, but initiate your Express Entry while there. It will not affect you. Don't loose your chance by waiting for ITA.

All the best.

Hello Omafor, I applied for a study permit for the second time this year. Just few days after I submitted, my eligibility review started. Is it a good sign for eligiblity review to start before medical request?

PS: I got a refusal on February 18 and reapplied on March 01. I am from Cameroon.
