Hey guys - wanted to ask for an opinion. My passport expired and so did my PR, I applied for Canadian citizenship in March 2020.
In order to renew my current nationality, embassy is asking for a no record certificate - proof that I haven't applied for Canadian citizenship and since my PR expired, proof that I've applied. I need to go home in the next 2-3 months. What do I do?
If you have proof from your passport office what they are sayibg then you are eligible for urgent processing.

I guess you can’t apply for urgent processing in such case unless you have solid reason like this:
  • needing to travel because of death or serious illness in your family and you can’t get a passport in your current nationality

A friend of mine who submitted in February 2020 got the invite a few days ago.... just when I start to relax and tell myself that it will come when it will come, something like this makes me anxious again. I’m also one of those who hasn’t been able to see anything on eCAS. It can’t find me and IRCC agents are useless.

Hi all,
I’m going to take a chance and ask so maybe someone when through the same thing and maybe can help me.
I filled CIT 002 formulary. At the end question 18, I put the date 2021-march-08 witch is the same that in question 9 for the calculator. But everytime i get a pop up saying that the date on question 18 should be the date after (on question 9).

it’s confusing because I saw everywhere that the dates have to be exactly the same.
I will appreciate if anyone can help :(
Thank you

dont be. It will come. Perhaps send a webform and ask for a status? or call them? Depends when you applied as well. Good news soon in any case.

I applied in Nov 2019 and March 2020 applicants (some of them to be fair) are receiving online test invitation. I am not anxious. Far from it. But I am so frustrated of how they process our applications in what seems to be randomly, and not in a chronological order.

Did anyone notice, they updated their status again this week. Looks like it is taking 2 years or less instead of 1 year or less as previously. So I guess we can expect most of us to get their Citizenship by March 2022!

"We’re currently finalizing most applications we received between

March 10 and 16, 2019

If your application is complex, it may take us longer to process it."

Yeah! It’s just so annoying. I don’t even know what to call them and ask?!

I highly encourage all of you to write to your MPs, Prime Minister Office, Twitter. It is beyond me as to why it is taking so long to process a citizenship application? These delays are also causing anxiety, stress and at least to me, depression. If vaccinations are moving quick, if banks are processing mortgages quick, if I can still go to university, what excuse does IRCC have? Really, none. I'm fed up.
At this point, Canada has produced more "G7" refugees than anywhere else.
