They should send you an email/letter indicating so. I also saw the decision made status on ECAS a few days before I received the email.
There is decision made in my account from last week can you please tell me how long it take to get the email

Once the the sponsor is approved, biometrics are done, and the medical is passed, what do they still need to do before giving a decision? I'm a US citizen and my wife is a dual American/Canadian citizen.

I also see people talking about having their applications sent to a visa office (AOR2). How do you know if/when this happens to your application?

Thanks!

On my Sponsor Approval letter, it says the following about which visa office the application was sent to:

The Application for Permanent Residence for your relative(s) will be forwarded to a visa office for further processing.

Visa Office Contact Information

Should you need to submit additional information or make any further enquiries regarding the Application for Permanent Residence for your relative, you must email the visa office listed above directly using the “IRCC Web Form”. This form is found in the “Enquiries” section of the specific visa office’s link located on this page: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/apply-where.asp

I have been separated with my fiancée who is in the Philippines since Oct 2020. We haven't met in person but both are very serious and plan on getting married online (not by proxy) through the state of Colorado where currently virtual marriages are completely legal due to covid19. I was originally supposed to fly to the Philippines for marriage in March 17th, but travel is banned there for non nationals due to covid. I know under the sponsorship proxy marriages are not allowed, however does it change since it is considered a legal marriage in New York or any of the 3 other states with temporary covid19 laws changed making them a legal marriage. There is no mention of "Online" on the license, it is signed by a court, done by an officiant and considered completely legal everywhere in the USA as laws have changed temporarily in the few states until April I believe.

We have been suffering trying to figure out how to get married since the travel ban of Canadians to Philippines requiring spousal visas to travel there (which are also quite hard to obtain even with marriage).

I'm a Canadian Citizen, veteran and my mental state has been quite badly inflicted due to covid19 and these restrictions limiting us in starting our family because I cannot be united with my fiancée.
Thank you.

I am not so sure about that but marrying online will still be considered as married- not physically present. I do not believe this will be considered as legal in Canada, however, I would advise to take an opinion of an immigration consultant before applying. You can always try as a tourist visa under extended family members.

It's still married - not physically present and will be considered invalid. "By proxy" is a turn of phrase that doesn't matter here so your 'not by proxy' explanation doesn't matter.

If you really think you can get it recognized - without committing misrepresentation/fraud - see a lawyer first. You're more likely to make things worse. (But sure, I could be wrong, too)

I think your efforts are better directed at physically going to meet your future spouse and spending time with him/her and/or marrying abroad somewhere.

It's not possible. The borders are closed as foreigners have been banned since last year, especially Canadians as we are considered "high risk"
Just to give more details:

All couples married will receive a valid court seal hard copy marriage license certificate issued directly from the courts and marriage bureau. All our marriages are recognized in all U.S states and counties. The americans have similar laws but since it's legal in Colorado, its considered legal in all 50 states.
All our marriages are performed with the true bride, groom, and wedding state court officiant that performs a traditional ceremony wedding and NOT proxy with our advance marriage technology platform. It does not state Online.

It might well be recognized in USA and around the world BUT for spousal immigration sponsorship in CANADA it is not recognized as being a legal marriage. As others have said, you have to be physically present for the marriage for it to be recognized. Since neither of you can travel to the others country your only option right now is to meet in another country and get married in person. If you try to do it the way you are saying and then in your app lie and say you were both present for the marriage that is misrepresentation. The app will be rejected and the applicant can face a 5 year ban from re-applying. Certainly not worth the risk IMO.

I am not sure why you chose to ignore my reply to your initial post. I took some time to provide you with current information from the CIC website. It seems to be quite clear that online marriages are not regarded as valid for immigration purposes. It may well be, as you suggest, that the documents you receive will nowhere have the word "online" or any such thing printed on them. But so what? Do you really think that will fool the VO? Will that officer not wonder just a bit about how you, a Canadian, and a Filipina, pulled off getting married in the US in these travel-restricted C-19 times? Don't you think that VO will smell an online marriage? Do you not think it likely that your application will be denied and your application fees wasted and, as well, leave a bit of a stain on your record as a bona fide applicant? Plus you will have wasted the cost of the online marriage, which is not cheap.

Your reply to armoured is wrong. She said this:

She is absolutely right, in my view.
She also said this:

She is speaking wisely here. You could well be making things worse.
Finally, she said:

You came back with:

Meeting your Filipina is not impossible, but fraught with difficulty. You say "foreigners have been banned since last year, especially Canadians as we are considered 'high risk'". I think you are wrong. I know for a fact of many foreigners who have travelled to the Phils since the whole C-19 debacle started. And I have not heard that the Phils Bureau of Immigration has put us on any "high risk" list of late. Canada was on a list of 30 countries barred entry for awhile, but that's no longer the case.

However, unless you are married to a Phils citizen and can get in under a 9A visa (which could be issued to you subsequent to an online marriage, since the Phils recognizes online marriages if valid where performed), the avenues of entry are limited (but there are some, not worth mentioning here, including the ability of balikbayans to enter.)

Armoured's meeting abroad is not a bad idea. Does your Filipina have a Phils passport? if so, you can look online and see what countries are open to tourists at present AND which will also allow for entry on a Philippine passport without a visa. It takes a bit of study since many of the open countries (such as Colombia - which will accept her passport) are hard to get to from the Phils by air without a stopover and not all countries will allow Filipinos to even stop over without a visa. But there are some possibilities of which I am aware.

I am probably wasting my time here, since it seems you came asking only for information and advice that will reinforce you in the views already held.
I posted same time as you, we all agree that his plan won't work.
