Guys, people who applied recently for citizenship (paper application) can please let me know what are the documents that need to be submitted along with application. My case is, I am planning to start preparing documents and start applying in another 1 or 2 weeks for me, my spouse and daughter (9 yr old). Please advise.

If it's a single application (Adult):

• the original printout of your Online Physical Presence Calculation
• photocopies of biographical pages of all valid and expired passports or travel documents you had in the past 5 years.
• photocopies of two (2) pieces of personal identification.
• If you are 18 to 54 years old:
  • Photocopies of your proof of English or French language ability.
• Two (2) identical citizenship photos
• The application fee receipt of $630.00 per adult paid online
• The Document Checklist
• Police Certificate ( If required)
• Other documents might be required. Check the Document Checklist to see of any other documents required in your case.

Family applications: If more than one member of your family is applying for Canadian citizenship, even if they are using different types of Citizenship Application Forms, send all of the applications together in the one envelope. The applications will be processed together. We will try to schedule family members together (for testing and the ceremony), but sometimes, it may not be possible

To apply for Canadian citizenship for your child (under 18 years of age), complete CIT 0003 form.

Hi RJ, couple of questions...

1) Reg. the above point, I did my IELTS in 2014. Can I submit that as proof of English and for my wife she did not do IELTS. So can I submit her degree certificate which is in English and does the same applicable to me as well i.e attaching my degree certificate which is in English as a proof.

2) My PR card is expiring in May-2021 and I have already applied for PR extension last month and it might take another 3 to 4 months for new PR card to come, however I am planning to submit my citizenship application in another 2 weeks. Hope I can submit the current PR card and there wont be any issues. Pls advise.

Regarding your First question,

International English Language Testing System (IELTS), General Training. You must have a score of:

• 4.0 or higher in speaking and
• 4.5 or higher in listening. (Note: If the test was done before November 28, 2008, we will accept a level 4 or higher)

So, if you have a General IELTS degree which meets the requirements mentioned above, you can use it. Your wife can use her degree/certificate if she's studied in either a Canadian or an English/French language school, university, college etc.

Examples of the types of language evidence that can be submitted include:

1. You attended or are currently attending a secondary or post-secondary education program in English or French, either in Canada or abroad, including:
   1. A degree, diploma, certificate or official transcripts from a secondary or post-secondary education program showing you studied in English or French, in Canada or abroad.
   2. If the original document is in a different language, include:
      • a letter from the school showing that the language of instruction was in English or French along with (including an official translation of the original document, if needed)
      • the address and contact information (phone number) of the education institution

Regarding your Second question,

submitting a photocopy of your either valid or expired PR card is not required, unless you want to use it as your personal identification.

Examples of identification you can use include:

• permanent resident card (PR card)
  • A PR card may only be used as personal identification if your second piece of personal identification was issued by the Canadian government.

It's up tp you. However, an expired PR card or a PR card renewal application under process does not affect your citizenship application ( It's my personal opinion. If you have any doubts, you can always contact IRCC and ask them.) I'm pretty sure that for applying for citizenship you do not need a valid PR card. So, whether it's expired, soon to be expired, or valid does not matter.

Guys help please. In question 11, Its only give me 15 entries after clicking plus sign, I need few more entries . If I will add another sheet .How will I validate my form. Is is mandatory to send form with validation barcode.

That’s what I could not find any solution for, before submitting my application . I had to add more than 15 rows in the educational/employment history section, and it did not allow me. Then, fortunately, I found out that I don’t need to mention vacations during the period I was student at university. So I omitted a few rows from the list. Do your best to omit some unnecessary rows if possible. If it’s not possible in your case, try to contact IRCC and let them know that validating the form while you add a sheet to the application form does not make sense. I’m pretty sure they will get back to you with a solution or a tip.

I also had a problem with the eligibility period for which I could not find any solution in neither forums nor the other websites. The automatically generated eligibility period in the Physical Presence Calculator starts one day after the one generated in the application form, and I could not change it manually. So, I decided to go with the one in the app form and added a LOE to the application and explained the situation.
