Hello,

Super visa==
I read about super and visitor visa for my Indian parents. My only confusion is , super visa is of course better but they are asking for 1 year medical insurance from Canadian company while submitting an application. What if my parents just want to get visa stamped but may want to travel later in future, then that insurance money is waste?

Visitor Visa==
I am not sure , as compared to super visa, if this is also stamped for 10 years and has multiple entries? Or the multiple entry visa is known as super visa only?

I am not much concerned about the stay if it's up to 6 months with visitor visa or 2 years with super visa. My only motive is to get their VISA stamped and then they can travel whenever they want during the period of 10 years. Please suggest and share your recent experience.

Thanks in advance.

10 years or multiple entry isn't guaranteed. Supervisa insurances usually only charge you for the period while in Canada although read the policies. Even if they travel on a TRV they should purchase travel medical insurance. Even when people purchase insurance with 100K coverage they still may end with a bill for medical care if something serious happens.

10 years or multiple entry isn't guaranteed in case of TRV's right? However, since TRV is cinsidered a short trip so med insurance might not be required to submit during the application, correct? Are multiple entries possible in case of TRV or that is also not guaranteed?

I completely understand that's the basic thing when traveling, one must have insurance coverage whether visitor or super visa.

10 year isn't guaranteed for both supervisa and TRV. Multiple entry also not guaranteed. Supervisa insurance is required. Supervisa was created for parents who tend to be older who want to stay for a longer visit. There have been problems with people not paying for medical care they receive when parents and grandparents visit Canada and get sick so when the supervisa was created having insurance was required because older people are at increased risk of needing medical care. Nobody is required to have medical insurance with a TRv but we see many examples on this forum of people who had not taken out medical insurance ( or enough insurance) and then end up with a large bill that they are unable to pay. Most hospitals do offer payments plans.
