Hi all, I finally got a letter my file was sent to CBSA at 1010 for an inperson examination. This is after i got a letter the minister will intervene in my case. Any idea why this is happening? I have been very nervous since I got that mail. Any idea will be much appreciated

Of course we can't tell why exactly this is happening, as we aren't familiar with your case or your circumstances. A minister's intervention means that the government has concerns about the validity or admissibility of your asylum claim and will argue that you should be rejected. This can happen for many reasons, but most commonly it's misrepresentation (they believe you stated something falsely in earlier proceedings), criminality (you're believed to have committed a serious crime outside of Canada) or medical (you're believed to carry some disease).

You'd probably know if you were sick or a criminal, so it's likely misrepresentation. But of course I'm only guessing.

Thank you for the prompt response. Unfortunately none of the above ever happened to me. I know the member who conducted my hearing(twice) said she wasn't convinced of my identity since I had no passport but other identification documents. I'm guessing the the issue of identity is paramount here.

Yes, this must be the reason. Well, this might be difficult to overcome. You will need something to prove you are who you say you are.

They have my national identity from my home country and other country I have been. The funny part is even lawyer says he doesn't know why my case was sent there.

It s really important to go there with a lawyer? The money he's asking my to pay I cant afford it.

Yes it is very important to have a good lawyer if you want to try to remain in Canada.

@canuck78 please is Minister intent to intervene the same as minister intervention. And also if the letter says all exhibits and still says minister will not be present at the hearing what does this mean please? Anyone can answer me. what will be the next thing to do please. Will CBSA call me or invite me even if I have not had a hearing. Can I get a call from them without having my hearing?
Or CBSA comes in after hearing?
