My parents have a valid super visa till Nov 2015. The 2 years period of their stay expires on July 1st 2015 (as per the stamp on passport). What are the rules for rentry to Canada?

Will they be allowed to re-enter Canada if they take a 2 day trip to US on June 30th and return back on July 2nd?

Appreciate some guidance.

It's impossible for any of us to say - that will be up to the immigration officer they encounter at the border.

Thank you Scylla. Are there are any rules for re-entry to Canada? I was looking at CIC website but its not very clear.

No - again, it's up to the immigration officer if you are allowed in or not.

hi there, I want to make it clear there is a rule, and they have to be away for 6 months to re enter again. with visitor they can just leave the country for couple days but supervise is 6 months. please find out and confirm before you let your parents take a trip to states

Is this true? Can you please share the source of this info? CIC website link/any other source?

That is not accurate. There is no rule for how much time you should be stay out of Canada befire re entry.

Usually as a "rule of thumb" you should have stayed in the last year at least half of it out of Canada, that is what a genuine visitor would do. Nonetheless this "rule of thumb" can be overlooked by the CBSA officer if they are convinced you are a genuine visitor. Many people have got out of Canada and then re-entered after a few days, many other have been refused, many others are only given a limited entry (e.g. 2 weeks).

Bumping this old thread... My mum staying for 23 months on her first visit and plan to re-enter again after being outside Canada for 18 months.
1) For her 2nd trip does she need to get medical done again in the home country before travelling?
2) She has not given biometrics during her Visa process. Is there a requirement for her to get her biometrics done before she can travel to Canada?
3) Any other aspect to consider for her second visit?

When is she travelling because she will need a quarantine plan? And possibly a 3 day mandatory stay to quarantine along with Covid tests.

Need a small clarification. My father is here in a visitor visa. We have requested for an extension but he wants to go back to the home country. If he leaves before a decision is made, will the application be considered abandoned?

You need to advise IRCC if he leaves or you could be asked to do a medical for the time he remain on implied status..
