We just got a request for a new Police Certificate as the one provided it is expired, it takes close to two month to get this document in Cuba, and at this moment this service is not opened to the public due to COVID 19 restrictions.

gosh they are really a pain in the a** ... they never asked any in our case.

After two webforms about our application this was their response:

"Good day,



As you have been informed on many occasions previously, your file is undergoing an admissibility review, often referred to as background checks. We do not have an estimated timeline for when these checks will be completed."

Is not that a good idea for your case, Showing you want update yes , but asking them always the same thing.... it won't do much then maybe put you even more on wait. Never forget that those cases are processed out of the country so ppl working there have a different vision then us in Canada.

Places like Mexico are known for revenge and mean things. So they could just decide to ignore you for as long as it's not over.

Mine says "Your file is pending to be reviewed by an officer for an eligibility decision" - Does this mean its done or its not done?

it's not done it's been probably pre-processed (pre-assessment) for eligiblity but require an officer to state if that takes more info or not

OMG i'm going to lose MY MIND. December 30th 2020 we asked for the notes. Our eligibility was not done but everything else was and now they send us this. Why cant they get their shit together!! Is it worth asking for an update now? Ordering my notes again ?

Nothing to understand on the way they manage files... but

final Eligiblity is usually related to BGC

this part must be completed for eligibility to be granted

my background check has been completed. Security and criminality as well.

So i'm not sure what the hold up is at this point. I'm going on 17 months of this process, makes zero sense.

Then maybe they are unsure if that's a case of interview or not that's why they are asking an officer to take decision

I sincerely doubt that's where its at. There has been no movement for Cuban applications at all. No application before me or after me as received an update. They JUST gave pre-arrival to an April 2019 applicant. Its simply Mexico being Mexico that can't handle their workload.

I am wondering if other September 2019 applicants have heard a peep from mexico recently ?
