Do I need to pay twice for biometrics in my study permit application?

My question is similar to another guy's post.

I got a request in my CIC account saying:

This is in reference to your application for temporary residence. The following documents are required to continue processing your application:

UCI NUMBER - MY NAME:
> Payment Receipt: Payment Receipt Payment of Biometric Fees: $85
1. This fee must be paid at the following link: https://eservices.cic.gc.ca/epay/.
2. Upload the receipt via your IRCC myAccount. This must be received at this office by: February 12, 2021.

I am a little confused. Fact is, I have already done my biometrics in the past and it was $100 (or even a little more). Do I need to pay the $85 again for my study permit application? So I would have paid $100 and an additional $85 just for biometrics that I have already done

When you submit your application online, you need to pay student permit fees + biometric fees. Firstly, confirm how much did you paid earlier.
Biometric fees = CAD$ 85
Student permit fees = CAD$150

If you haven't paid biometric fees, go forward and pay them before the due date.

Thank you! But the thing is, I already paid the student fees of $150 and I also paid for biometrics a year ago which was $100.

Now I need to pay another $85 for biometric fees? It's like I'm paying double for biometrics

I have the same question. I paid 150$ in study permit fees when I submitted my application. They asked me if I have already done biometrics and I clicked "Yes".
I have already done biometrics in 2019.
Now I need to pay an extra 85$? Why? I have already paid for biometrics in 2019. Or is it a separate thing?

I think if you have already done biometrics,you can raise a webform and send your BVL.

Hello , good evening I am having the same issue , would like to ask how you styled yours ? Did you pay or informed them that you already did the biometric before ? If you paid did they request you go make another biometric ? Thanks

I would advice you to pay biometric not to delay process with webform. IRCC refunds if your biometric is valid for 10days...
