Hi guys,
My company wants to issue letter to IRCC directly and not generalize it as "to whomsoever...."
Is that okay? They need name and address of the addressee.

Secondly, many posts say we need to have salary and benefits details on the reference letter. Now with changes in salary every year, is it mandatory to mention all those details ? Can I just add the last drawn annual salary on the reference letter?
No problem in getting specific reference letter for Ircc. Go ahead with that.

Only last year salary is enough to mention as well.

Make sure your letter has following:

1. Your name
2. Your guardian name
3. Date of joining the organization
4. Job status ( Full time / part time)
5. Working hours per week
6. Key job responsibilities
7. Last year salary
8. Last month salary
9. Name, address and contact number of the person issuing the letter
10. Signature of your supervisor/ boss and the date of issuance of letter

thank you so much for replying.. What is point#2 Guardian name here?
There is one more question..
I had multiple job titles in my company.. During the major 2 job titles my roles were exactly the same, just the title changed. But during the third role I switched within the company to a different role. I worked in this(third) role for 4 months and then I left my job. (All the job titles are under the same NOC)
Do I need different employee reference letters or I can use one letter and upload in all 3 sections? I dont think my company is willing to issue separate letters.

Guardian is your father's or mother's name if it is mentioned on your appointment letter or salary slips.

If your experience is within the same organization under same NOC you can go two ways:

1. Mention all the experience as a single time group. Get all the roles mentioned clearly in the reference letter along with period in each role.

2. Mention experience in each role separately. Here also, you can use the single combined referenfe letter as above.

There is nothing special to chose between these two options. You can go for either and clarify the doubts in Letter of explanation.

Ask your company’s HR dept to write it per IRCC’s requirements.

The following documents are mandatory for each work experience declared:

  • a reference or experience letter from the employer, which
    • should be an official document printed on company letterhead (must include the applicant’s name, the company’s contact information [address, telephone number and email address], and the name, title and signature of the immediate supervisor or personnel officer at the company),
    • should indicate all positions held while employed at the company and must include the following details: job title, duties and responsibilities, job status (if current job), dates worked for the company, number of work hours per week and annual salary plus benefits; and
  • if the applicant is self-employed, articles of incorporation or other evidence of business ownership, evidence of self-employment income and documentation from third-party individuals indicating the service provided along with payment details (self-declared main duties or affidavits are not acceptable proof of self-employed work experience).
If the work experience is in Canada, proof may include copies of T4 tax information slips and notices of assessment issued by the Canada Revenue Agency (the time period for these documents should reflect the work experience timeframe [e.g., work experience from 2006 to 2008 requires only documents from those calendar years]).

No, copying exact wordings with NOC details will def raise IRCC’s suspicions. Responses in this forum suggest at least 80% match to NOC, paraphrase where necessary. If your company has standard wordings to the roles you held, even better. Once you have that, try to find the NOC that matches to your job description.

Bai, if they ever came to know I'm preparing to migrate and will leave their company they'll never help,
Need assistance from some Expert outside for reference letters only,
Rest immigration process im doing myself and its easy.

It has to be certified by someone working in the same company as you, an immediate supervisor or HR personnel can do that. Think from IRCC’s perspective, how would they trust the document you provided if it’s been signed off by someone not even related to the company you’re working for?
Plus read IRCC’s requirements, it has to be signed by an immediate supervisor or HR personnel. So best have that discussion with your company. Explain that you won’t leave right away, that you’ll give ample notice plus it will take months, close to a year to finalize an EE application anyway.

Thanks for your assistance,
I meant that just for preparing reference letter from some expert as per my noc i need assistance. So that we strategically put duties in a way that'll satisfy both my noc and company job profile.
Then definitely I'll go ask my company HR to put it on their letter head same duties,
Final document will be released by my HR.

I see, got it. Not sure if there are ‘experts’ on writing reference letters. And there is no specific format per NOC, as long as it meets IRCC requirements, it will be accepted. What most people do here in this forum is they get their reference letter or lift their duties from their offer letter or from the original job posting and find their NOC, not the other way around. The former is easier as most of the time HR/the company is not willing to change the roles and responsibilities as stated in their files even one bit for legal reasons. There are also some ‘experts’ online that can find your NOC for you, where they’ll check if your reference letter matches which NOC.

good luck.
